  1. I use the Vallejo model air and it is great I bought two of the 16 bottle sets off amazon one was regular and one was metallic. I think they were 45 or 48 dollars for each set and you really don't use much of any of the paints because you get such a varety of useable colors. and it sprays great out of any air brush. hope that helps.
  2. that engine looks amazing...What did you use for the belt?
  3. This is my first attempt with house of kolor kandy paint and I think it turned out all right. let me know what y'all think....without being too mean lol. and the last picture is the hail we got the other day
  4. hey guys/gals, I'm building the revell '70 challenger as the R/T 440 six-pack and I'm modeling it after my uncles car he had years ago. I need the decals that go the length of the car in white and was hoping some one here could help out with that since the kit only came in black.. and if possible if anyone could make the demetrios to go above it and I don't think I could get "the mad Greek" in the actual stripe. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Nick
  5. Greta job love the slammed look with the gorgeous gloss black cant wait to see the next one
  6. I'm spraying a duplicolor lacquer clear and primer....I was wondering if anyone else has an issue with what looks like cob webs floating all over the place once you start spraying... both are from a can that is pre thinned
  7. that looks great I wish I could make the visions in my head come to life in my work
  8. that car look amazing and I like the step by step as well. I would like to know if the wipers on "playing with kandy"are they photo etch or did that car just come with separate blades

  16. They both look great.... and just remember patience is a virtue Mr. Miyagi. when they are done... they can paint the fence it will be fun
  17. 1-I use krylon paint with no issues just be sure the surface is spotless and has no residues on it 2- For the painting like to start with 1 light coat followed by 2 moderate coats of paint. but I lightly sand between coats to remove any imperfections. 3-The wet sanding , make sure to get the surface and the sandpaper wet. then sand to remove the orange peel. When wet sanding I like to keep my blow dryer handy to let me know when most or all of it is gone you can tell when you dry the car most of the surface will be dull(because of the sand paper) but you may see little spots in your paint that are still shiny, that's when I re wet the car and try to get those spots out then you can either apply your clear or another light coat of paint or your clear. 4- I've had several bodies that I have not been satisfied with and I've had to strip them. I recommend either the easy off or just plain old brake fluid. let them sit overnight and start scrubbing in the morning the sooner you soak it the easier it will come off. I know most regular paint strippers will turn your model into a little puddle of mushiness at the bottom of the bowl and that would be no good 5- I personally paint indoors so i would recommend testing the paint in that temp in something other than the body and I'm sure other members will have more helpful insights into the art of painting your car this is just the way that has worked for me hope this helped, good luck and I look forward to seeing your builds. Nick
