  1. Nice build. Way to really go outside the box. Im trying to build a Ice T mud dragster so I can relate where you are coming from....
  2. You sir are truly an artist. In both your models and your words. Although not quite as old as you, I thank you for the stroll down amnesia lane (model building as a young man). Keep up the great work.
  3. Very nice work. I need to play with my airbrush more and learn to paint with the Alclad.
  4. I think I found the shocks I want to use (late last night) They are off of a Losi Micro crawler. I can cut some of the coils out to adjust for height. I only had 2 good ones, so 4 more are in the mail. Looking for a coil front axle (like the resin ones) and have a bid on E-Bay. I will try and make the links out of some small all thread I have and aluminum with more Losi Micro ball joints and ball ends (which should make the suspension work)
  5. Not sure if this is the right place (its kind of a street Rod/Mud bogger dragster) any ways on to the pics.... Based off the Ice T model. I have the So-Real BOGGERs/w rims and a rear axle. I need to find a coil over front axle, so this may be a long build. Just something a little different I figured....
  6. Nice, clean build....
  7. I painted it a gloss blue and then took nail files/buffers to it. Im not sure its the correct way, but on this it worked pretty well (considering this was my first attempt). My car was de-badged, so I wasnt to worried about some of the emblems and such.
  8. Nice start. I had a 73 and they still had a different grill thn the 75's. Yours looks great and good attention to detail....
  9. Nice. I love the early Torinos....
  10. Paint is super sweet. Overall build is also sweet....
  11. Just a build I did after seeing one on here. This is a car I had in High School and even though the paint was shot, the engine, drivetrain was strong (I broke a 140 mph speedo in it, in a long straight-a-way one night, stupid, but I was young and 10ft. tall and bullet proof). I wish I still had this car. Anyways on to the pics (yes the paint is acurate to the 1:1). Im still looking for pics, this was back in 88 or so).... Mine had coil overs on the shocks to give it enough lift on the rear for the wider tires though. I didnt do any pics of the engine as its not acurate (I had a FE 390 in mine). It looks close enough like my car back then though....Thanks for looking. Mark
  12. Nice. Im learning weathering, and this gives me some direction....
  13. Agreed. the lower stance look best....Nice work.
  14. I got my So-Real BOGGERS w/rims(E-Bay). I have 6 loose ones, but cant find rims to fit them. I also got some Losi Micro Crawler axle halves (my son broke his where the link mounts). Waiting on a Cherry Bomb kit and another 69 Torino...
  15. I always liked that kit (from when I was a kid). i too have been looking at getting another, but putting it in my stash of other C-cabs and hanging on to it for a while....Nice build...
  16. Real nice looking gasser. i need to start doing some...
  17. Very clean. SWEET...
  18. Thanks for the feed back. I have used Brake fluid on RC cars, so in the future I will use that trick. for the interior of this car I used the plastic bag trick on wet paint (mine had a blue marble interior). I painted the base coat of flat black, let it dry then went in with the blue, and dabbed it with the wadded up plastic sandwich baggie. Not perfect, but it looks pretty good.... Lots of learning process's going on with this build (trying new things)
  19. As the title says, i got this in the mail.... I had a 69 GT Torino in High School and recently seen a build here, so I knew I had to find one.The body was painted, but it was unassembled. First thing I did was sand the old paint off and primer the body.... I need the FE 390, but this is close enough (mine wasnt this shiney) I tried to match the paint that mine had... Its not perfect (mine had crappy paint, but the engine was super strong). I have to do some more work on the paint and make the engine a little greasy (hey its a FORD). Not as fancy as some of the builds here, but Im pretty pleased with it. I wll add some updated pics when she is all finished up. I have a bid on another 69 that,if I win it, I will build it like I always wanted mine.... Thanks for looking. Any ideas of helpful hints would be appreciated.....
  20. I love those goofy models like that one. That is a sweet kit bash. i seen the WIP first and I am glad I have seen the finished product....
  21. Yesterday I got the AMT "Little Gasser" show car and the "Lil Mixer". I dont think Im going to build them though. i built the Little gasser when I was a kid and havent seen many of them. I do see the Lil Mixer, but I still think Im just gonna set on them. I also got the Super Dune Zinger the other day and its almost done. I have the new JEEP on its way....
  22. I have a Revell Funster (the 57) on its way. I had the Malibu funny car (Funster) when I was a kid and always wanted the 57. I also have the semi Zinger on its way as well. Just some fun builds to get going again....Bad thing is Im also working on a 86 Samurai buggy (1:1) so Im kinda torn between the small scale and the bigger versions....
  23. I actually liked it a lot. I dont like how the hood fits, but I guess you cant have everything. It went together pretty good (but like I say, Im not as good as a lot of you here).
