  1. Thanks to Brad Norgaard (gasser59) and his printing expertise to make decals, I was able to complete my Charlie Smith Altered 25 T. Thanks again Brad.
  2. Hot Rod Did an article "The Dodge Chargers Story: 1964-2009" on the restoration of the #2 Jimmy Nix car. Shows good color pics of the body colors.
  3. Have made a new addition, 1964 Dodge Chargers. See beginning post for story.
  4. MCMA (Metroplex Car Modeler Association) used to meet once a month on a Sunday in Irving, Tx. I don't know if their still meeting as their website was no longer up.
  5. Thanks, I done enough alterations, I'm bound to get better eventually. Waiting for the rerelease of the Corvair funny car.
  6. Hey, talking about the AMT AWB '65 Chevelle "Time Machine". Here's one I got off the Epay. It was a minor gluebomb that I restored. The original decals on it had all but flaked off, but the aftermarket decals are a lot better choice. I did go ahead and alter the front wheelbase while I was restoring it.
  7. You want to see original art? Here you go!
  8. Here ya go! Had the same chassis as the Pirana.
  9. There were actually fourteen kits in the AMT Funny car series that were released from 1967 thru early 70's. They were: The '53 rear engine Studebaker, '58 AWB chassis (stock body) Edsel, '64 AWB topless Olds Cutlass, '63-'65 AWB Chevy II. '65 AWB Falcon, '65 AWB Mustang, '65 AWB Chevelle, '66 Rear engine Barracuda, '63-'66 AWB Tempest, '66 rear engine Corvair, '67 AWB Cyclone, '67 "Funny car" Corvette, the rear engine Pirana, and the Allison Thunderbird was also in this series.
  10. Which engine are you going to use? He ran a small block (389 ci) Chevy in 63, 64 and 65. The OHC Ford in 66 and 67.
  11. Here's a pic I found on the internet. Hope this helps. It says it is his 1979 Camaro. Gerald
  12. Hey, how about a tribute conversion to a Jungle Jim Nova Funny Car.
  13. I agree, up to the 71's they were just stock bodies on a funny car chassis. But beginning with the Kalitta Mach I, the Mustangs, the Vegas and the Challenger in 1972 they did at least try to replicate a real funny car body.
  14. And here I thought I could stop. My intension was to build a definitive model of each major body style, but then I would need a '66 AWB Baccaruda for sure. But as members have commented "How about a Road Runner, a Superbird, a Satelite,, and there were different grills and taillights and hood scoops of the same body styles, and different paint jobs of the same models, and, and"....... I will need a support group to help explain to my wife why I need to knock out a wall and lengthen my display case!! Oh well, back to the workbench. Thanks for your comments.
  15. I have it in a 1320 diecast. Had a Dick Jeese GTO F/C too, but it was such an ugly car I traded it.
  16. Thought I would send a pic, I have all of the "name" MPC Pro stocks in my collection. Have the Minuteman and Screaming Eagle in unnamed rereleases. Right side of pic from bottom 2/3rds.
  17. Wow, someone's gonna be very busy. I added two more pics to my original post from the Ronnie Sox Memorial website.
  18. I was asked in a PM about the source of each model. The '65 Belvedere was a built resin kit I got off Ebay and restored. The '67 GTX is a box stock Revell (with a few mods). The '69 Barracuda is a combination of MPC body, modified Jo-han engine, and gutted scratch built MPC interior with a Jo-han '71 Cuda chassis (the MPC chassis was a sad one piece unit). The '71 Cuda is a box stock Jo-han. The '73 Duster was a gluebomb I got off Ebay and restored. Hope this helps.
  19. Finally completed the 1967 GTX. It took me awhile but I finally found that set of Goodyear Redline tires in my tire stash. Now I thought I had completed my collection of Sox & Martin's Plymouths, then Revell goes and releases the '70 Cuda. Oh well, I guess I will have to build it too. 1965 AWB Belvedere 1967 GTX 1969 Barracuda 1971 Barracuda 1973 Duster Let me know what you think.
  20. Here's an AMT Opel Gt reissue that I scratch built into an early KS Pittman gasser before the wild paint job. Fitting a blown hemi and opening the rear wheel wells for slicks on this little car was a challenge. It was a lot of work but it's close.
  21. Here's a pic from the Super Stock and Drag Illustrated March, 1965 that shows the info you need.
  22. Brad, I am trying to get white lettering decals for a project I started on Charlie Smith's 23' t bucket from 1964. Do you think your source could help me?
  23. Nice to see Round2 is rereleasing the Chezoom Corvair rear engine funny car again this Dec. Will have to do another Corvair funny car (Seaton's Shaker?, Hayden Proffitt?, Doug Thorley?). Thanks for your comments.
  24. More photos. Had to alter the wheelbase on the body, scratch build the interior and change the rear assembly to coil springs verses leaf springs. Photo of real car from the internet.
