  1. Very nice looking Caddy! Not a fan at all of these huge chrome wheels that everyone finds so attractive these days, but we all have our own tastes. Other than that, I love it! Steve
  2. This is what the '60 Dodge Dart Phoenix looks like. Steve
  3. Ok. But the one pictured in your original post is still a '60 Desoto. Do you have pics of the Dodge? Steve
  4. I've only used it once to date, but it worked very nice! A nice wide fan spray pattern for painting larger areas helps alleviate possible "stripes" in the paint. Double action, but activated just by pressing the button so there's no double action trigger "learning curve". And a very handy & comfortable trigger to boot. I'm pretty much sold so far! Not terribly expensive at around $115.00. But you'll have to be patient, they only ship from Japan. Got mine on Amazon, but they can also be found on ebay. Steve
  5. I just sent another member that exact same jack in a trade, along with jack stands, lug wrench, tool box, gas can & the "haul-it" trailer. All came from the MPC 1968 Dodge Coronet kit. Steve
  6. The bench seat looks to be a '59 or '60 Chevy Impala. The steering wheel is definitely a custom part, but I have no idea what kit it came from. Steve
  7. The '65 300 Air cleaner is different than the '66 & '67 piece. The '65's was a plain one. The '66 & '67 had the "440 TNT" air cleaner. But, they are basically the same otherwise. Steve
  8. Exceptional! An unusual subject & very nicely done. I have to confess, I've never seen a blue mod top. I've only seen greens & yellows. Steve
  9. Sand the edges of the lenses a little bit at a time until they drop into place. Steve
  10. $6.99 for 1,000, 1.5" bags on Amazon. Steve
  11. I haven't even checked, but I'll guarantee you that you will be able to pick them up on Amazon or Ebay. I have yet to "not" find an item that I want in one of those two places. Saves me from running all over God's creation for this item or another. Personally, I like "one stop shopping". Steve
  12. Exactly! Dusters are a dime a dozen. The Monaco is what interests me! Steve
  13. I'm not completely sure what you mean by "not breaking down" but I'm fairly confident that being primarily a factory stock builder myself, most of my models would operate like a new stock 1:1 would. Steve
  14. Yes I do. Which is one of several reasons why I don't use brake fluid. But I'm considering trying whatever options are available to tackle my primer problem. I have more than one kit sitting around that has been completely stripped of many layers of automotive paint & clear, but that dang primer just hangs on! Steve
  15. Thanks guys. I don't have much problem removing the MCW & Duplicolor lacquers that I use with Super Clean. But the Testors & Duplicolor primers are very stubborn. I've tried Easy Off oven cleaner with about the same results as Super Clean. The task at hand is finding something to remove the primer after the paint is gone. I thought that if anyone had experience with IPA for that specific task, I could try it. Or does anyone think that possibly brake fluid would work better for removing the primer? Steve
  16. And it's ok to soak parts in? I use Super Clean to remove lacquer paint from bodies with fairly good success, but I find that it does not work well for removing primer. I thought a good soak in IPA might do the trick for that job. Steve
  17. Where would I find 99% IPA? No.....not India Pale Ale, Isopropyl Alcohol. Steve
  18. Thanks for the tips Steve, although I will admit, most of the time, when people start talking photography, it's all Greek to me & my eyes begin to glaze over after the first two sentences. I know about as much about operating a camera as I do about flying the space shuttle. It's good to see someone occasionally talk in "photography illiterate" terms. All of this "aperture" & "macro" stuff means absolutely nothing to me. I have an older Nikon "Cool Pix" L100 camera that takes fairly good pictures, but it is difficult for a "photo dummy" like me to figure out the best way to photograph my builds. I will try your suggestion of using the "landscape" mode & using the zoom from a ways back & see if it helps. I have been using either the "close up" or "food" modes with iffy results. Steve
  19. Well, you're probably one of very few people who wouldn't take free milk. Steve
  20. Not sure if that's fair Bill. If something is free, who's not going to take advantage of it? If a grocery store gives away gallons of milk for 15 years, tell me why you wouldn't capitalize on that. Seems to me that Photobucket would be to blame in this circumstance. If they didn't feel that offering a certain portion of their services for free was going to work for them, they shouldn't have done it. Blaming the consumer for taking advantage of a free service offered doesn't seem reasonable to me, but on the same hand, we shouldn't be surprised when that service evaporates. That being said, I've never had an issue with paying a fee for a service, but to take the leap from offering free milk to charging $25.00 a gallon doesn't seem like a very intelligent business decision in my opinion. Steve
  21. I'll check to see if I need them Chris. Thanks for thinking of me. Steve
  22. According to them, they were so swamped right around the 1st of November that the site went down! Did anyone else get the e-mail with the heading: "We are overwhelmed by your support". (And so was our site) I don't believe it for a second! Probably just another excuse for their horrendous site! Steve
  23. That's going to take some "creative" fixing up. Maybe you could do a Rat Fink style rod. Sometimes the cartoon versions have that wicked body contortion. Steve
  24. Just picked up a pristine body for an AMT 1964 Pontiac Bonneville today. I already have a pair of '64s but both are damaged in one way or another. This will make a build much easier. Steve
  25. A very rudimentary kit, but hey, they all were in 1959! With a little love it can still be transformed into a nice shelf piece. Nice find Steve! Steve
