  2. That is so awsome of you to spend time with you're sister..at you're age you could have gone and did something way crazier especially on you're 18th b-day..As a Dad of two grown daughters myself I am very proud of you..well done..
  3. Awsome scary looking cuda..I love it..
  4. Awsome american muscle..great building skills..good subject too not the typical chevy or ford..
  5. Beautiful job..very nice colors very clean / sharp build...
  6. Okay guys..Heres my 1st completion for the year..The AMT / Ertl 58 Chevy Impala Coupe. I used testors aztek pearl green and put a set of pegusus wheels on it.. I went kinda simple on this one only because I don't have alot of hobby time these days (a bad case of bronchitis and time off work) gave me the extra time to finish this one within a weeks time.. This kit went together fairly well, most of the parts fitment was okay and the bmf on this kit was definately a patience tester. Thanks to Tulio "lovefordgalaxie" I learned the process of foiling the fender lettering.. I also discovered I don't particularly care for opening doors hence the black door jambs that should have been green. I was gonna go two tone but decided not to only because I started two other kits with two tone paint but had to put them back on the shelf..hopefully you won't find too many flaws ( rememder I was sick) compared to some of the works of art in these forums.. Thanks guys
  7. Very nice..nothing to feel bad about from what I see..also very good idea to use these forums for learning and ideas trust me I've learned lots from these forums...
  8. Just thought I'd share my attempt at foiling the body script thanks again for your advice
  9. Thanks so much..gonna give it a try...
  10. Thanks for the reply much appreciated..I recently started a project and it has badges I want to try your method but I already painted the body with testors aztek acrylic..do you think I might be able to foil the lettering and put another coat of paint?? Also would thinner work on acrylic??
  11. Beautiful job..hope to become as skilled as you some day..I gotta ask if you can discribe you're method of foiling the body script.. moulding is one thing but body lettering seem almost impossable for me..or is dry brushed?
  12. I dont blame you on the bmf..it will drive you nuts sometimes..to me bmf can be a blessing and can be a curse..its caused me to mess up a couple of nice paint jobs with my xacto
  13. Well here are a couple more pics of the progress..this project is going way too slow..too many life distractions going on..Im only getting about 1-2 days per week if even that to work on it and its causing me to get impatient...I made a couple of goofs on the paint and what makes it worse is they're on both sides of the car..just my luck they both could'nt be on the same side..now I gotta back track to repair it..but hey thats all part of the hobby I guess...
  14. Okay guys hopefully you can help me here.. So I've never really wet sanded and technically polished out a paint job before..I have tried but it seemed all I did was scratch up an already shiny finish. I've always had to settle for a mostly shiny finish but with dust and speck flaws in them..I feel like when I put sand paper to paint its doing more damage than good and I have tried using very fine grit paper..so with that said can anyone give me a sorta step by step instruction or at least point me in the direction of where I can get more information possably a youtube video or something...this paint job came out pretty will aside from the over spray. Its been more than 2 weeks since painting it so Im pretty sure it cured well enough. It does have some dust specks and what looks like a small hair on one side..Thanks so much in advance for any replies....
  15. Okay so these are probably a rookie moves but hey I'm a rookie..I got some overspray on on the grey area of the paint job and I tried to be as carefull as I could about the coats but got some runs.below the driver side door. any advise on howto fix these would greatly appreciated
  16. Awsome job...I'm very impressed by you're detail abilities..
  17. Yea..gonna have to agree the other rims were nicer..thanks guys..
  18. here are a couple picture updates..I know it doesnt look like I've done much but with the holidays and work schedules its been very difficult to carve out hobby time around here....
  19. Very nice..Im currently working on the same subject..looks great so far
  20. Hello Guys... Well here's my next project. I picked up this kit up at a local model expo here in Buena Park. So Cal for $10..Not too bad I was able to talk the price down from $I8.. I want to take it to the mild custom style i'll probably go with a stock two tone paint job with all the stock chrome pieces and interior. I did have to cut slots in the wheel wells to get the wide tires to fit at the lowered stance I want..Wish me luck.....
  21. Just bought this kit over the weekend..gonna keep an eye on yours looks great so far by the way..
  22. Beautiful build..detail looks great for..5 days!! Also love the background with the grass coming thru the asphalt..excellent job
  23. Thanks for the comments guys..much appreciated..
