  1. I learned most of my car stuff from kits. When I'm building, I usually know what each thing is, but having to go, "WTH is that?" and flip four pages back to the parts name chart is annoying. The older Revell kits (2000s) that I used to build had the names and paint colors spelled out in good old English right there.
  2. Rather nice '66 Mustang coupe in bright yellow. Saw it this morning on the bus ride; the guy lives in town and owns a bunch of cars, and this one is the only one well enough to run. It's beautiful, however, Cragar Supertrick wheels and a light-fade cowl hood.
  3. Alrighty. Looks like I'll be buying it soon enough.
  4. I'd really dig having a slot car track in 1/24 scale at my house or somewhere nearby... HO scale is cool, but I'm more comfortable with bigger car models.
  5. Kinda silly to ask about a Tamiya kit, but how is the fit and overall quality of this kit? I plan on buying it for my father, who hasn't built a kit in over 22 years; this is the exact same car he always used when he played Gran Turismo 3 way back when.
  6. If the thread title is what the auction title is, change it so no one else steals it before you!
  7. Eeeurgh... even though it's a genuine question, the mods aren't usually too disco on direct eBay ad links...
  8. Ooh, those "gemstones" are a good idea...
  9. "Cream tangerine and Montelimart." This album is good music for working on my BB guns.
  10. I always love your weathering. This is no exception.
  11. "Here, dude, shoot me with this gun, this vest will work!"
  12. I'm going to keep this as it sits now. I plan on building a few more of these some time in the future, one a rust bucket as well, so I've written down all these ideas and put them in my idea book. Next time you see a glass topic for one of these, it'll have everything outlined here.
  13. So I did find something... Pictures tomorrow, and it's not the Superbird.
  14. Well, actually, I do have a Superbird that I think is a Johan... Already partially started it a while ago, but might as well finish it. The glass is broken, however... Anyone have an instruction scan for said kit?
  15. Take a look at this here: http://www.hotrod.com/features/1505-one-owner-original-paint-barn-find-daytona/
  16. Well, with different sized spindles... Small spindle wheels with big spindle hubs: larger Evergreen tube on small spindles to build up to the big spindle size.
  17. I used a Micron 005. They're available at most good hobby shops, or on eBay/Amazon. I got mine from the LHS for $2. They're good because if you're writing the panel lines and the penpoint slips out (which it doesn't usually because it's so small), you can wipe the mistake right off, and the ink seals right good under clearcoat.
  18. Still can't ind all the parts to the Civic, so I'll look for a cheap kit on eBay.
  19. Well, if it come out nine times a year, why give the issues a month instead of numbers 1-9?
  20. So when I got home yesterday, I felt really tired. I did the panel lines with a Micron pen again and hit the whole thing with Floquil Dullcote. Still partially shiny, but this is how it'll stay because I like it this way. I do respect all of your opinions, but I am the ruling authority here! It won't be seen in extreme daylight situations like this, nor too up-close with model-builder types. It'll probably sit on my diorama at next year's school art festival.
  21. Reminds me of this one from a Spose video, just in the blue-n-white Bel-Air way: Love the colors!
