Petetrucker07 replied to Mooneyzs's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Yeah buddy. I hope to have a BIG 1/24 scratch built trailer done for next year. With the truck trailer it'll be about 5 foot long! I really can't wait to see this in person 1 of these days. I'm running local for Pioneer Sand this week. I hope to get by Hobby Town and Hobby Depot this week. HD has a few kits on hold for me. -

I've been eyeing a Trumpeter LaFrance kit at a LHS out here. I'm not sure if I really want to spend 90 bucks on it. I'm sure 1 of these days I'll have a firetruck on my shelf. -

That would be awesome to finish it up this year. Hopefully I don't jinx it, hope you don't hit a motivational wall. As long as you keep plugging away, it'll be done this year and ready to hit the shows next year. -

Looks awesome Chris. I hope to see this finished, well at least see it period, next year. The body is lookin great man. The chassis is lookin fantastic. Can't wait to see some wires and hoses on it. It looks really good in primer with the wheels and all, sittin on the chassis like that. -

Petetrucker07 replied to Danno's topic in Contests and Shows
I just can't believe my schedule is working out this way. I missed the show by half a day. Now I'm running local out in Arizona to help out Pioneer sand this week. I hope to get a chance to swing into HobbyTown and look around and get over to Hobby Depot. I have stuff on hold over there. Looks like I missed 1 helluva show. I'm gonna everything I can to be there next year. -
Nothing yet. They just got done repainting this International the same shades of green as the others. They started restoring the 1st heavy haul truck the company ever had, a 359 Pete. I'm not sure what motor or what year. I'll do more investigating. Here's a pic of the Bullnose KW and a few others I could google. I'm not sure if this is the same bubblenose or not, but it looks just about the same.

Cool DR man. I really like the straight truck direction you chose. Nice work on the bed and stake unit, great idea makin it removable. -
Something to Ponder
Petetrucker07 replied to jwrass's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
To me, if he doesn't look at the sections, ever. Then he's just complaining to complain. I wish I had this dudes life to complain about a section of a model forum that he doesn't look at. So that's all it can be. What waste of his day, about 7 milliseconds to scroll past the truck section. I consider model cars a wide definition, from cars to space craft to monster figures to trucks, big and small. We're a group in a hobby that is slowly loosing it's appeal to the younger generation. For the most part, we're all friendly, courteous to others. I'm not a NASCAR guy, but appreciate the quality of work that a builder puts into one. Same with military or space or figures. I guess I'm just confused because he's not whining, but he's complaining about something he isn't involved in and avoids it. So why complain, your doing the best thing you can, not look. -
Congrats man. You do some amazing work.

WHAT! No trucks! Oh boy. Now Iam for sure gonna be there next year. I can't let the trucks no get represented. Congrats to all the winners. Looks like it was an awesome time, awesome show. Wish I could've been there. -
I'm just curious if anyone has something to display their builds at a show. If you do, let's see how your stuff is presented. My 1st display is an octagon shaped beveled mirror with vinyl lettering. My next 2 are mirrored displays I made. The darker one is solid cherry wood. The other is solid oak. Working in a cabinet shop had its perks.
