  1. You should Google the EPA and emissions standards for highway trucks and educate yourself. With the DPFs (diesel particulate filter) and DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) systems, trucks now burn cleaner than most cars. And, in a lot states, they are strictly enforcing the 5 minute idle law. They will make you shut off the truck, period. Oh, and write you a ticket with a big fine. Just a little information, how do you think your ice cream gets to your local store, still frozen. A diesel powered refrigerated trailer that has to run almost constantly. Enjoy that next bowl or ice cream cone.
  2. The company I used to work for is small, 20 trucks. But when I was there it was one of the nicest local fleets around. Then things changed, a few of us quit. Now that company is just runnin with a couple nice trucks.
  3. Yes. Wildwood looks good. You might have have seen this company, Gardner. They have clean, simple, good lookin trucks.
  4. Lookin great Sean. This will look great next to the Petes. Are you gonna give the flaps the "fatbottom" treatment?
  5. I agree with both of the above. This one, granted it's owner operators pulling their trailers, Reliable. They have a high requirement for the trucks pulling their trailers.
  6. How about Europe. They just recently had their one hit revived.
  7. Yep, just about as low as I got mine. I used Moebius rims with Class A resin drive tires. They are a bit lower profile than Revell tires.
  8. I think someone had more dollars than sense this one.
  9. Here's a few shots of the truck I used to drive.
  10. Here's my "bench". My time here is very limited. I just can't understand why I can't have styrene flying while she makes dinner, LOL. If you look close under the counter, behind the far chair, you'll see some of my stuff there.
  11. On the last truck I drove, every and I mean every, nut, bolt head and rivet had spikes on it. It looked really cool, but I wouldn't recommend being the one who cleans it. Take it to the truck wash.
  12. Looks like you got it sittin my kind of low. I like it.
  13. If anyone is interested in being part of this please PM me or post in the thread in "The Truck Stop". The thread is pinned at the top. The start of is a month away.
  14. I saw it on its way to being locked anyway. I wouldn't put money into such a thing anyway. Harrys points were valid and made sense. Why put into "something", just to spend buying said "something" in the end.
  15. I'll do my best to give a step by step on my process. I'm using 5/16 styrene channel. It's a bit big for this, but with the nearest place for styrene over an hour away, I'm using what I have on hand.
  16. Check out Scenes Unlimited. I've ordered from both of them. They both have very nice parts. On the kit wheels, I have no idea. The Meng F350 is a kit yet to be in my stash. I need to get a couple before they sky rocket out my budget.
  17. I've run across 40 in Arizona and seen trucks that almost look like that.
  18. That's why I kinda made a point of legally. Our trucks are governed at 65. We do that most if the time. I've tried to do my runs at 55. I ended up pulled over on an off ramp or rest area sleepin. That 386 with the marker lights on, that truck was governed at 95. Let's just say a set of legs went by and proved it.
  19. For me, being a California driver, I can only legally figure 50, max. Since our state is stubborn or just plain stupid, trucks are limited to 55 (legally).
  20. Still brave. I've seen many a truck stuck pumpkin deep in that very spot. Also back west at the Pilot in North Palm Springs before the freeway ramps were redesigned. I remember a few times a day guys gettin stuck runnin up that frontage road, then trying to turn around in that soft sand.
  21. Dude, your brave. Drive your truck out on the beach. Nice rides for Western Turds.
  22. I like what you have done so far. I really like how the tires are dressed, ready for show, still under construction.
  23. Sounds like another great build either way. I'm beginning to think you don't like styrene cabs. Just messin, you definitely have workin with resin down.
  24. I'm curious what your next project will be. So far your builds are awesome. Lookin forward to the next project.
