  1. Welcome to the forum. I've been back at this obession for 2 years after a 10 year or so break. I too remember building with my dad. You got a great lookin collection so far. Since I've been back, my "stash" is big and ever growing. So I know what you mean about it becoming an obsession.
  2. Breaker 1, breaker 1. This is the Bandit, is the Snowman out there, am I hitting ya son. Mercy sinks mercy sinks, putting about 8 and a half, blowing my windows out, bring it on. Great lookin pair. I'd really like to have this set on my shelf some day. Excellent work man!
  3. YES! It messed up they scare people, but it's hilarious at the same time. I've gotten a few people when I had big horns.
  4. The images look great. It's also nice to see ya workin on this again.
  5. The last truck I drove, I loved doing it for kids. Mainly because I loved it too. That truck had a set of train horns on it. I took advantage of any reason to lay on them. They were also great in traffic when 4 wheelers were doing something they shouldn't be (read stupid). On that note, I love watching the horn blasters videos on youtube. I'm rollin around laughing at those.
  6. Just cuz you have em, doesn't mean do whatever to get them on. That takes "shackled up" to a whole new level.
  7. Great to hear your trip went well. The races were very exciting, I watched from home. I can't wait to take my son when he gets a little older, he's only 6 months right now. I think you hit the key hobby shops in the area. It's also cool you were still able to get in Barris, being so close to his passing. I'm happy to hear you were able to do some site seeing. The bridge that bypasses the Hoover Dam, I had a small hand in building it. I drove for a company that delivered the powder cement during its construction. There also a couple of casinos I delivered powder cement to also. Hope you are able to make the trip again. In-N-Out is worth the trip alone! Not to rub it in, but it's supposed to in 70s this weekend.
  8. Going off topic for a second. My buddies boss just bought this toy. It has a small cam cummins, center point steering and straight cut 13 speed. Man, how I miss the whine a straight cut 13.
  9. If I wanted to drive an automatic, I would've been been a postal worker delivering the mail. I agree with ya. Not just shifting, but a true TRUCK DRIVER is an endangered specie. There aren't many of us left, but who can blame them with government trying to turn driving into a 9 to 5 job..... Whoa! I almost got my soap box out again. But, yes. Shifting, nice and smooth, each clicking into place, rollin into the throttle is a good feeling. All that's missing is the loud whistle of a C15 turbo and loud rap from a straight set of 8s. OOHH how I miss them days! Iam thankful for YOUTUBE. Videos of the good ol days. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dLaadCuk7vo
  10. The clutch is not a foot rest. Even in traffic, I put in a low gear and idle. So I'm not in and out on the pedal.
  11. Looks good man. I really like the shop dio.
  12. ^^What he said! I drove a truck that when I got in it, it had 600 miles on it. When I got out of it, it had almost 700000 miles on it. It had the original clutch and it never needed adjusting. From what I was toldd, it went till 1.2 million miles before the clutch was replaced, and that was only because the motor had a bad leak and covered in it oil. Even then, it still had life left, if it weren't for the oil.
  13. Great start. Lookin forward to the next update.
  14. That's awesome Brian, you first ever rode in a 7400. Guess it shows my age. My first ride was in a flat top K100.
  15. Thanks "G". I just found out yesterday, that the owners som (President of the company) has one of the old Rough Riders race trucks. I talked with him for about an hour about off road racing. Once he gets done updating the truck, I'm gonna go chase for him! He also said when he goes out to prerun (practice) he's gonna let me know so I can ride along. Now that is awesome. I've always wanted to ride along in a race truck with unlimited suspension, well not unlimited, but lots of it.
  16. That looks great Sean. I'd say build a P.I.E. cabover, 2 axle daycab. Like this... A Freightshaker ... Or a KW... I know this KW has a 6V71 in it. The first truck my Dad bought was an old P.I.E. truck, with a 6V71.
  17. Outstanding! This is coming along nicely. Great work, great update.
  18. I think some of Volbeats stuff is Rockabilly. I like Social Distortion also. Some of their is definitely Rockabilly.
  19. Congrats Tyrone. Well deserved. Thanks for sharing the pics. Looks like it was a great time.
  20. Sorry for your loss. We lost our oldest cat about a month ago. She was 15. It's always rough when you someone or something you love.
  21. Absolutely! I hope their strikes got enough of those bastards, hopefully the key players in that despicable group. I'm glad to see they're not laying down. They are going after them.
