  1. Yep. Now we're gettin rain more often, the higher elavations got snow this week, I hope this season will put a significant dent in our drought.
  2. I'm sure NBC was behind the bit. If it were totally up to Jay, it would just be him and a guest, talking about cars and driving them around, no scripted bits.
  3. I'm gonna go with 1970. The peak of the muscle car era, but also the beginning of the end.
  4. Thanks for lookin guys. The truck behind, the other load of hay is the 386 in the first pic. These trucks were lucky to only be buried up to the bumpers. Other trucks were almost up to the windows. It was wild storm we got, that and how dry Cali is didn't help at all.
  5. Thanks guys, I appreciate the support. Here are a few trucks in the Hettinga fleet. They have many more, just Google isn't finding any worth sharing. And here's the truck of my inspiration. Unfortunately it's the only pic I could find. It got caught in the flooding on I5 a few weeks ago. It wasn't damaged, I just saw it yesterday and it looked show ready again.
  6. x2. Guessi forgot to comment on this. Great work.
  7. I'm not giving up hope that I'll have a sudden burst of motivation. Guess my Nomad was pretty adventurous for skills. I'm hoping, but it's not lookin very good.
  8. The commercials are because it's CNBC. They need the sponsorship. I'm willing to bet if Jay's show gets good enough ratings, it will be moved to a better channel in NBC's arena. I never cared for the Tonight Show, any of them really, but I do like Jay. He's a CAR guy, any car, any genre. I like that he can go over 1900s steamer, to an all out jumping lowrider, to a 60s gasser, to a Dussenburg, to a custom COPO Camaro,to a custom chopper, to whatever. I'd really like to take a tour of his collection and shop. I'm sure there's a bunch of cool stuff.
  9. Revell made a Beall. That's a trailer Revell NEEDS to reissue.
  10. I keep one of Hettinga's trucks while I'm out and about. I haven't been able to take a pic of it yet. I can't seen to find any online either. But, I know the colors of this truck. It will be a red metallic and charcoal grey. This will be just like my white and green 359, but I'm gonna try to to some detailing it doesn't have. This will be slammed, drop visor, straight stacks, big square bumper, basically a typical So Cal hay truck. This particular truck passed me today pulling a set of cattle pots. I don't see many double cattle pots out here. Maybe I'll be inspired, it looked really good with them.
  11. I switch out most of the rims on my builds with Moebius sets. I know on the the older late 60s, early 70s trucks they're a bit too modern, but still a nice lookin upgrade.
  12. Looks great. Nice touch with the Revell steers.
  13. These are the most current Top Fuel kits available. They're from the early 2000s. There may be aftermarket decals out there, but I'm not sure.
  14. Welcome to the forum. Lookin forward to seeing what your workin on.
  15. Very nice build. I think it's time she got her own screen name and started posting. She's an excellent builder, time to "hang out" with the builders. She has earned it.
  16. Looks like your off and runnin with this. Remember now, the build off is 10 months, I'm sure this will be great way to give your mind a break from that. If you put into this the same effort you put into your rig builds, this will be an awesome when your done.
  17. That's no lie. That's why we work so hard for...goodtimes! And to pay the bills..but so we can goodtimes also.
  18. Lookin good man. I think you might actually get this done soon, if you keep up this motivation you got goin. I'm lookin forward to the next update.
  19. It's Deja Vu all over again.
  20. This was view driving back to the yard from Carlsbad. What a nice way to cap off a rough and long week. A west coast, ocean sunset.
  21. This was my Friday drive from Carlsbad headed home to Victorville. What a way to cap off a rough and long week on the road.
  22. X2^^. I need to dig out my blocks from my machine shop days. I need to go through that stuff to see what I can use for my modeling so it's not just sittin in a drawer. There's a boat load of money in that drawer, I may as well put it to use.
  23. Thanks JT. I'm hopin to get this wrapped up so I can take it to an IPMS Show in a couple weeks with a couple of my big truck builds and my Yenko Nova.
