Wynnscharger FE dragster, 7-27-15. engine is in.
Petetrucker07 replied to Petetrucker07's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Thanks Micheal. I'm happy with it so far. I love these old FEDs. I'm going to getting a few more and ordering some aftermarket decals, Slixx I imagine. This kit sure has some issues. The directions for mounting points are not clear at all. The chassis can be warped, mine wasn't luckily. There's a little bit of, just stick it there, hope it works, going on. -
It seems to be working fine for me. I'm using my android phone. That pic is from my photobucket.

Concerning the NHRA TV lineup
Petetrucker07 replied to Nytrozilla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I still have my Camaro. I have a Chevy pick up to pull it. But I do have a Kia. I think there's a lot of people who had or have family cars there not real proud of. Iam lookin to trade in the Kia for 2013 or newer Durango though. -

Concerning the NHRA TV lineup
Petetrucker07 replied to Nytrozilla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I understand it perfectly. When it's said that NHRA got in an uproar over a particular show, they need to realize why NHRA had something to say about. It's the stupid kids with Daddys money trying to replicate what they see on TV. It's not the shows fault people feel the need to go all Jonny Knoxville on the streets. If you don't like what is being presented on TV for NHRA Pro classes, that's your decision, which is fine. I don't the garbage that is being presented as "street" racing when it's a lie, even if it wasn't a lie, my opinion is I don't like that. I'm putting my support towards a legitimate and long standing form. Not in a TV fad. I look forward to seeing what is coming on the horizon with NHRA and Fox. I hope they add more to it to make it more "viewer" friendly. But I know this. Televised NHRA will be around way longer than a fake street racing show. -
Concerning the NHRA TV lineup
Petetrucker07 replied to Nytrozilla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
NHRA does not build tracks. They are a sactioning body with rules and saftey to make racing safe. NHRA is much more than what is seen on TV with the pro catagories. If people are only gonna comment on what they see on TV, I'd consider that very ignorant. You want to a little thing called Google. Search the divisional races, search SCEDA, or NMCA, or any of the others that put on safe races, that are in no way shoving anything in your face but safety. If safety isn't your thing, then fine. But I'm gonna do what I want to do, safely. I'm not ever gonna risk the public or my own life, PERIOD! -
The ones I have on my car are 2x3 tubing. They roughly 26 inches long. The angle iron that the u-bolts go through to mount the bars are 2 1/2 inches wide at the widest part. The front and rear pieces of angle are roughly 12 inches apart. I added a piece of flat stock about 2 inches from the snubbed to "load" the bars. Hope this helps.

Concerning the NHRA TV lineup
Petetrucker07 replied to Nytrozilla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's the whole illegal street racing thing that NHRA is against. That was the whole point when Wally Parks founded the NHRA and the SCTA. It was to get people on to the track and off the streets. I have not, and will not watch any episode of street outlaws. Too many people die doing what they are supposedly doing and promoting. That whole show is fake. I don't care who this pisses off. I'm a firm believer in racing on a track, with safety and responsibilty. The way i see it, if dumb enough to race on the street, you shouldnt be driving. You are a risk, hazard and a threat to the lives of the public. I've been racing the NHRA street legal stuff for over 15 years and will NEVER race my car on any street. My Camaro is street legal, it was my daily driver for a few years after high school. Every once in awhile some hockey puck would try to get me to race them and I never did. If you find that show entertaining, power to ya. I DO NOT! I will continue to support the NHRA and all the sactioning bodies that promote racing on a track. -

Thanks for the feedback fellas. Finally got a little motivation today, and this build happened to be the lucky recipient of that. I got the steering mounted and the engine put in. -

Man, you brought back some memories, brining up Scott and Steve. Steve Evans was the best announcer and here are a few more names. Buster Couch, the starter ever, no BS with that guy. Jackie Beck, Ms Winston. I sure miss them.days. -

It would almost have to be a cowl type hood. Should be interesting to see who gets its straight first. -
Motivation, wish I could find some.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Sean. That's exactly what I've been doing. When I'm not working, I'm spending time with them. It's the early morning or later in the evening when they're both sleeping, when Iam able to get some bench time. I'm just not feelin it. I know it'll come back. I'm sure a simple quick build could break it up, but I don't even feel like starting anything. Just a bit of a spot, I know it'll pass. I'll keep lookin at the projects around and it'll bite again. Again, thanks everyone. -

I'm not sure if they are discontinuing any. The lowrider stuff is of no interest, so I don't look. Next time I'm in there I'll ask them what rims they are still making. -

Maybe I'll do it just for you from now on. The Henderson HL is in the plaza on the north west corner of Sunset and Stephanie. The Galleria Mall is right across Stephanie St. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hobby+Lobby/@36.06621,-115.047942,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0xec896d9056fe0f2c?sa=X&ved=0CI4BEPwSMApqFQoTCOTw0pzy-MYCFQSViAodASICAg G Thanks for info. True, but when you consider 40% off, plus (usually, for me) no tax, even with the cost of shipping included, can still be a good deal. Perhaps they haven't yet figured out the default behavior of the new software, can be edited as required/desired. oh yeah, thanks I do enjoy the attention of a whiner. -
Next up from Moebius ?
Petetrucker07 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know this is odd. Why not put out something newer. A Cadillac CTS-V or XLR. How about a newer Chevy or Dodge pickup. Maybe an OJ (92) Bronco. I'd buy a Tesla kit. I'm not gonna get into the big truck area, that's a whole other can of worms. But how about something off the wall. A sandrail or some sort of modern boat kit. -
