  1. I don't know Joe. I know I wasn't 14 but it is in the 90's at the latest.
  2. OK. Correction is done. Thank you Mustang 1989.
  3. I've been following this for a while Joe. Love it. I have the same kit which I may redo. I'll keep looking for tips and techniques to steal, pardon plagiarize.
  4. I reposted mine but the old dyslexia took over in the title. How do I correct that?
  5. Last night, I painted some details on the engine accessories. I noticed that the kit offers plain or Cobra valve covers. My car has the Cobra ones but they are black. So I painted them and wiped off the surface.
  6. Earlier this week I had started to fool around with ignition wires. I read somewhere (Mr.Obsessive , I think) that AWG 30 wire casing was about right for spark plug wire boots. I used the casing of some telephone wire but it looked somewhat big. Then I tried the casing from another phone cable and it was better.
  7. This is to pick up on a thread that disappeared in the migration to the new server. It is about making a replica of my 1:1 1967 Mustang. I had started with this thread to gather info:http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90131&hl= I then went on to purchase the resin coupe body and a couple of fastbacks for the guts. I have also ordered a C4 transmission, a set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires , a convertible top boot, a set of decals which have the GT/A stripes ,and a set of photo etched details . This will end up being a rather expensive model. In the first few postings I had cut the roof off the coupe and toyed with the idea of modifying the rear seat area or not.
  8. That is my preferred method. I lose one almost evrey session.... a part, not the flashlight.
  9. If you look closely, the cab is very similar to the '65 Chevy pickup's. Using that and the hood of a Ford N 600 I'm sure I can cobble a good semblance of a B 7000.
  10. Update: the jewelry boxes are nearing completion. After they're done, more time for models. I have the Mustang started and the '34 Chevy coupe. Those are the priorities. Then the Hawk.
  11. Are there any kits made of the early 60's GMC B-7000?
  12. Is that display case still available somewhere? It's got my attention too!
  13. You are correct, I think the deluxe seats had a little chrome thing in the backrest.
  14. This was supposed to be in the quote above. We're on it David. I think I have all bases covered. Thanks.
  15. Thanks Steve. I found a link to decals I had forgotten about. Turns out it is Keith's. As far as the interior, mine is partial deluxe, for some reason it doesn't have the door panels.
  16. I imagine that would have to be reduced. how do get it right?
  17. Thanks Dan & Steve. Yes I have decal paper, so I could print some. As far as the C6 vs C4 that would be the lest of my worries.
  18. The whitewalls didn't work. Looks like I'll be touching up the wheels AND the tires. Discussing some interesting alternatives to that roof with Mr. Fractalign. This project may fall onto the back burner for a while.
  19. Received the '67 coupe body from Jeff today. Looks real good!. Looked into the Fastback box. Everything I will need is in there except: an auto matic transmission/shifter, the boot (discussed above) and GTA stripes. Anyone knows about aftermarket GTA stripes and what kit I could cannibalize for a Ford auto trans and T shifter?
  20. Boy, do I ever like that garage. I bet it has stories to tell.
  21. I'm committed to three things, brushing out the local snowshoeing trails, building a garage "sort of like a diorama" for my grandson's Christmas gift, completing three jewelry boxes for my granddaughters' Christmas gifts, while working on my '34 Chevy. Is it possible to have too many hobbies? My next one was to be a '67 Mustang GTA like my other full size but the fellow making a coupe body (Jeff Ballard) has run into some personal issues and he tells me there will be a bit of the delay. Then I guess I'll attempt to turn the '62 GT Hawk kit I bought into a '64 like the one I once had. The side effect of this one is to build a replica of a '54 Stude I once saw with a Grand National drivetrain & interior using the remainder of the car I'll use for the GT Hawk. The long term plans were to do the other cars I once owned but of the three, possibly only the '31 Model A is feasible, there must be a kit of that somewhere. The '40 Packard 110 sedan and the '47 Olds 78 fastback sedan don't exist as far as I know.
  22. Great looking interior Seth. Is the carpet flocking? Do they make mottled flocking?
  23. I had tried to paint whitewalls using the circle template method but since the tires are hollow like real tires and have to be "worked" over the rims. The paint cracked. So I have to figure a way of painting them already on the wheel. Dechromed and epoxied the windshield frame in place. Added a bit of putty here and there. I'll compare the apparent thickness of the A pillars with the 1:1. I may have to thin them out a bit.
  24. Turns out I have to file the ridge on top of the cowl to have a nice , flat surface up to the base of the windshield. I also realized that the back of the Ford windshield frame is flat which is better for this application, so it will go in inside out. After much more filing and sanding we are almost where we want to be.
