DO get it checked out. The first time I had bronchitis, I didn't know what it was, thought it was just a cold that held on and on for about a month. Second time I got the same thing, after a few days I went to UC and they checked me out and told me that's what it was and put me on antibiotics. The next time I got it I went to UC in a day or two and they got it cleared up. A couple times I had it, as soon as I knew it was coming on, I started taking it easy, such as not going out in the cold or rain, or stressing myself, and getting lots of rest and sleep, and rode it out by on my own. The last time was last summer when I had "the crud" for maybe three days and on the fourth day I woke up and knew immediately it had gone into bronchitis and I went to UC again.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
FABULOUS news, DNM! Looks like at least three of us will be crossing the finish line tomorrow, bringing the build total to nine--at least! Which is GREAT! Also looks like there will be enough interest for a Round 3! GITTER DONE! -
I've had the same thing off and on for weeks. I'm taking the Walmart generic version of Mucinex. It works really well for me. (So would Mucinex at twice the price.) You might also want to get checked for bronchitis. I've had bronchitis so much lately (six or seven times in the last five years or so, with three trips to urgent care) that I know exactly what it is and when I have it, and that's not what I have now, but that doesn't mean that you don't. Check it out. With antibiotics, you can be rid of bronchitis in three or four days. My son and his wife both have professional medical backgrounds, and they diagnosed me as having "that typical Winter Crud that's going around," which is the official medical name for it.

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Snake45 replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Well, I will probably get my Vette Gasser done tomorrow but can't promise that I'll be able to take and post pics by tomorrow night. Since it's the weekend, we're allowing the full day (and evening if necessary) for completion work, and then hopefully everyone can get pics posted in the next two or three days. We're shooting for success here, for wins, which are counted in completions. GITTER DONE, fellas! -
This actually made me LOL.

Just remembered, I have an older pic on the bucket. This is from two jobs ago, somewhere in the 2007-09 timeframe, my early days of diecast collecting, when my only source for them was the local gas station and Walmart, and I hadn't yet discovered the cool calendars to match them with.

Oh my, I would LOVE to have a model of that to lay some Good Old American Rod-Fu on!

Last I heard, they didn't even know how many 9562 Chevelles were built, though I think they did eventually pin down how many coded engines were made for them (including anticipated replacement needs). You can be sure that at least some were ordered with vinyl top. If you want to build a model 9562, you can either start with pics of a documented car, or just build it the way you would have ordered it yourself in 1969. Odds are, someone, somewhere probably did.

That came out great--I'm envious! (I'm still looking for a hood/engine cover for my own glue bomb.) Well done and drive on!

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

We'll Withdraw you With Honor, and pencil you in for Round 3. -
And here it is:
-
Didn't vinyl tops start with the fullsize '63-'64 GM cars, which had those "convertible ribs" in the roof?

I just move the bar at the bottom until I see something interesting, and then let it play. Rarely do I have more than 1-2 minutes invested in watching these things.

YOU GO BOB! GITTER DONE! A simple declaration before midnight tomorrow (March 31) will be believed that you GOTTER DONE. We'll allow a couple days for DONE pics to be posted. It looks like there might be enough interest for Round 3. I've already picked out a couple projects. -
VERY interesting indeed! Thanks for posting!

Will do. I'll post April's display next week, when I get it installed.
-
Don't it, though! I've been doing this for about 3 years now. I buy the Mustang, Camaro, Corvette, and Musclecar calendars every October at Walmart, and every month I pick out the two that I have diecasts the closest to. Every once in a while I"m able to match three; have never been able to hit all four on the same month. I just started this new job a few weeks ago, and just brought this one in this week (you don't bring your toys to work on Day One). Only brought the one since March was almost ever. I already have April's two picked out, and will be taking them in on Monday.

It's pretty cool, but if it wants to come live at my house, it needs to grow up to 1/25 scale. If it overshoots and lands on 1/24, that's acceptable too.
-
I'm about to get back into one of those Willys pickups I started about 10 years ago--especially if we do Round 3 of the BOYD build.
-
Looking good! You gonna GITTER DONE by Sunday? Drive on!

Very Most Way Extremely Cool! Your Chargers remind me of a pack of Lifesavers! Drive on!

What's the deal with the International Model Car Builder's Museum? Is it still in bidness and a going concern? The website is a mess with many broken links and the latest date I could see on anything there was 2010, with most of it dating to 2007 or before. I googled the address, which seems to be a strip mall (in Sandy, UT). Is this the case?
