  1. If everything goes absolutely perfect and I'm highly motivated, I can build a model in one week or so. This almost never happens. My builds drag out for weeks, months, years, even decades. Last fall I finally finished up a model that I painted in the early '90s. True story. I figure a typical build takes me somewhere between 30 and 50 hours, depending on how much bodywork it needs and how tricky the paint rub-out process is.
  2. I read the same thing and spent some time googling pics of the PL GTO. I couldn't tell from the pics whether it has a problem or not--at least one that would bother me. Guess I'll have to pick one up and judge for myself.
  3. Well done!
  4. In the chilly hours and minutes Of uncertainty, I want to be In the warm hold of your loving mind To feel you all around me And to take your hand along the sand Ah, but I may as well try and.....
  5. Sinatra made My Way famous, but Paul Anka wrote it.
  6. That's Van Halen. Panama? Lyin' Eyes. Eagles, I think.
  7. Having My Baby. Who did that, Paul Anka? He should have retired after My Way.
  8. Taylor Swift, Shake. I don't think it's possible to avoid this song (or M5's Animals) today.
  9. I believe you're right. Lindberg also did the same thing with airplanes back in the '50s.
  10. Spose, Jimmy.
  11. It looks like a first or second generation Logghe chassis. Might be the same one that was in the JoHan '68 Javelin or '70 Olds (AMT and JoHan shared some tooling in those days). You can see the instructions here: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/straightline-competition/amt-70-mustang-funn/
  12. Very nice! I have an original MPC (not AMT) '66 Bonneville convertible that you're reminding me needs restoration. Been struggling with what color to paint it.
  13. I have several different types of "glue" on my bench. Each is used according to the particular application. Testor liquid cement (MEK) Ambroid Pro Weld (methelyne chloride) J-B Weld epoxy 12-hour clear epoxy Superglue (usually generic Walmart stuff) Loctitle Superglue Gel Elmer's or other white glue Rubber cement The one thing I NEVER use is tube "model glue."
  14. Ordinarily I try not to care about that, too. But when you have 1/25 models of GTO from '64 to '72 lined up together, and the '68 (or '69) is bigger than the rest, it kind of stands out. I HAVE my 1/25 GTO body. But I know someone else wanting one, and was just wondering if I could give him the source. As I said, I bought if off eBay and have no idea who actually made it. Whoever did it, it's very nice indeed.
  15. I can relate. The front ends on those Monogram GTOs don't fit too well. It takes a bunch of work to get them to look right. But yours ended up okay.
  16. Come on baby do you do more than dance?
  17. It's not a bad kit--I've built one. But it's 1/24 and looks oversize with the rest of my 1/25 GTO models, that's all.
  18. Sometimes, there just isn't a better way. Maybe you could talk someone into producing a line of resin wiperless cowl panels. Of course, then he won't make one for the model YOU want to build. Ain't it always the way?
  19. Very nice, especially for a first car effort. BTW, what you have here is not a '69 but a '68 with no vent windows and a '69 spoiler. Could be a typical "street rat" of about the early to mid '70s.
  20. Fire it on up and let's cruise a while Leave your troubles far behind. You can hedge your bet on a clean Corvette To get you there right on time. Now if you're ready to dive into overdrive Baby, the green lights are on. It's like you're running your brain on some high octane Every time she reaches fully blown
  21. Fifty thousand watts of power And it's pushin' overload....
  22. Jenny was sweet She always smiled for the people she'd meet On trouble and strife She had another way of looking at life
