  1. This morning it hits me. I think it's Questions 67 and 68.
  2. How many acts have done different songs called "Heartbreaker"? I'll start with three: Led Zep Grand Funk Pat Benatar I'll bet there are at least a dozen more.
  3. Except for the goofy wheels, I Iike it! Everything looks better on American Torq-Thrusts!
  4. That rings a bell. I think it's a Chicago song but can't think of the title.
  5. Know your head is spinnin' Broken hearts will mend This is our beginning Comin to an end
  6. Incense & Peppermints, Strawberry Alarm Clock. How I loved that song once. What was it, 1966, 67? I associate it with building early funny car models.
  7. Long ago, someone taught me what 12-bar blues are with this simple rule: "If you can sing Red House to it, it's 12-bar blues." And he was right! Other Hendrix 12 bar songs: Hey Joe, Voodoo Child (and of course Voodoo Child Slight Return, which most people just call Voodoo Child).
  8. Tom Petty, Great Wide Open.
  9. It's B-52s, but I thought the song was called Roam.
  10. No, that's a remnant of an earlier paint job. I don't even remember what colors, but at the time I thought the new paint would just cover that up. I was wrong (as I was about a lot of things when I was 14, gimme a break).
  11. Yeah, get some bodies pre-painted, and then spend the winter polishing and then assembling them. Or you could learn to polish bare plastic. I like to polish the raw plastic on a model if it's molded in a halfway decent color.
  12. Email me your address and I'll send you a set of white stripes. I've bought a couple copies of this kit just for parts. SnakeACP45@aol.com
  13. I found my can of Firey Orange and have been playing with it. Over white, it's lighter than the old AMT Burnt Orange. Over black, it's a little bit darker. I just sprayed some over Rustolem Red (rust) primer. I think that might be Just Right! I'm not going to repaint this body, but I want to build up a new, better one and am trying to get as close to AMT Burnt Orange as I can. Thanks for the idea!
  14. I've got it sitting just about where I want it. I might need to deepen the fenderwells a little all around to keep the tires from hitting the inside of the body.
  15. I just remembered, I have an MG-TD, too, molded in green.
  16. I found a camper cab in my box of HO stuff, so they must have had a camper pickup in the line. If I have the camper, I might have the rest of the truck in that box, too.
  17. I was gonna say Irene Cara, then thought no, she was the Fame song.
  18. Not sure of the title or artist but that was the title song (or at least was used in the climatic scene) of the movie Flashdance.
  19. Those cars would have been considered beautiful in the early '60s. They're very much in that era's showcar style--look at Ala Kart or Lil Coffin. Not my thing at all.
  20. You're GOOD! Artist is actually Mudcrutch, but it's a Tom Petty joint, so full credit awarded. Rock on!
  21. I've used quite a few of the Testor/Model Master lacquers now over enamels of various kinds with no problems at all as long as the enamel is dry. The stuff seems to be very mild. Haven't used that many Tamiyas so far but what I have used, same story. I've discovered that some Krylon, Walmart, and Rustoleum paints that say "fast drying enamel" on the label are actually lacquers, and some of them are pretty hot, too. When in doubt, there's no substitute for testing, preferably on the plastic from that very model. I like to use the undersides of interior tubs and the topsides of chassis--places that won't show--for this. I've found that testing on plastic spoons doesn't always work. I've had paints (some Krylons) that laid on the spoons beautifully, but would eat kit styrene.
  22. No, I don't think so. Might have been Eldon. I took a quick look at my old junk last night and found a second, unmolested Dart, in "chrome red," and also a first-gen Camaro in "chome blue." Also found my Mini-Lindy Corvette, molded in green. Maybe I'll take a pic of these later on and post it.
  23. Look again. I got both back on the 17th.
  24. Sun going down On a canyon wall I got a soul That ain't never Been blessed Yeah and I'm a shadow At the back of the hall Yeah, I got a sin I ain't never confessed
  25. I had several as a kid, but only to use as bodies for my HO slot track. One I remember was a '68 Corvette. I might still have it. I also had a '68 Dodge Dart in HO. I seem to remember the body being chrome plated. That might not have been a Mini-Lindy, that might have been made by somebody else. Anyway, I remember the nose was too long so I cut it back to look right. I painted it like Dick Landy's Super Stock.
