Rear shocks re vamped with better coils...kit shocks were pathetic. The moulded coil lines didn’t line up on the mould halves and were very shallow. It would have been really hard to paint (LHS shock is the before in first picture) Indexed things with a brass pin

Thanks guys for the encouraging comments Wheels are painted gloss black and valves added. Rotors drilled and painted gold Then bagged up along with the interior to protect them...from me

Originally I was doing a black on black Gas Monkey Garage F40, but I just did the 288GTO in black. So now I am going to go this direction

So next up on my desk during this forced viral isolation, the F40 I started this kit in 2015 and am determined to get it finished this time. Here is what I did back then

You are doing a spectacular job I have all three of the big Italeri retro kits in the stash. A bit too chicken to break one open though this lay off would be a good time? -
Thank guys.....she is fair to middling, oh and moved to big boys section, ok. A bit disappointed in the kit fitment in some areas and blow away by detail in others I wanted it completed to move on to other builds, so made compromises that I must live with. Still a very fun build Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during our corona times

Oh my, this is superb Modelling at its highest level

First finished kit under forced preventative Covid isolation. Nice big 1/16 kit from Fujimi Would like to have displayed engine on its own, but no alternative mouldings for that in the kit

Ha ha Hi Mike and thanks Ya after a year the red has faded a bit and need a good vacuuming!! bugger I did a little carpet cleaning and made polished aluminum buttons for beside the e-brake handle. The shifter gate needs to be stripped and re-chromed, just didn't come out as shiny as I thought it would- 58 replies

Pocher Testarossa Renovation & Completion
Twokidsnosleep replied to Twokidsnosleep's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Hi Rich Yes I am planning on supporting the car's under the body too...something solid and black to hide under there. The leather is from a local store, as light weight (thickness) as I could get. It is lambskin I believe. A chrome tanned lamb leather hide works well. Springfield leather is a good source in the States. I am using the internal/ suede side as the outer grain side was shiny and looked out of scale. The suede side is a better colour match too. Thanks for looking- 58 replies

Cheers Gary and Bruce? She is coming along

Ok so up on her wheels this weekend. Body dry fitted, hood not so great at the moment I had to make some threaded brass rods to allow these Fujimi wheels work...it was a lot of work to get the little nuts on the bolts!
-
HI Bruce it does look like a frame straightener Just needed something as a stable reference to check level and square as I added the suspension and wheel assemblies. The kit parts were semi mangled with separating them and removing contact cement so I lost some plastic and some attachment points...like all of them

Cheers Dan
