  1. Hey you are still in here messing about with this Bull I am always so amazed at your abilities with styrene…bending tubes, making hinges and scratching out full parts. And then how clean it all looks, like it just belongs there with perfect edges and no schmutz of melted plastic everywhere. I do not have that skill with styrene and have to resort to brass and other metals and it still does not look as ‘professional’ shall I say Nice work bud
  2. Well that would be cool indeed. 3M miles holy crabs The engine set up is of interest to me,as just the overall body appearance vs the smaller kit truck I thank you in advance and please take your time and be safe when taking pics, there is absolutely no rush Cheers???
  3. So sad, another legend gone We had margaritas last night and made a toast to Jimmy Buffett
  4. Nostalgia purchase for me. Vivid memories of building this as a kid. Local seller, not stupid money and immaculate condition
  5. I did not know Dave at AITM had passed away, sad news Had some discussion with him a couple yrs ago and went another route for the build. If you read the start of the thread, I have an entirely different kit to use as the base and still will go that way with some 3D printing along the way. This is a nostalgia kit for me as I made it as a kid and I did a pretty good job with a mediocre kit.
  6. This kit fell into my lap a couple weeks ago. Local seller, semi reasonable price, immaculate kit It came on my last day of work before a vacation so I only snapped a couple pics and poked through the box at lunch then had to leave it I am eyeballs deep at work, building a sailing ship model and doing woodwork for a ski room 4 hrs away from home…. So not likely that this will get started anytime soon
  7. Thanks for commenting At least it was me that knocked it over and not the cat or my wife dusting Nobody to blame but me ?
  8. Might wanna do an isopropyl alcohol rinse first and get all excess resin residue off. Then a UV light or sunshine
  9. I was only going for the brass tubes…..oops
  10. Had a little retail therapy last month before summer kicks in. The stash does not need to be added to, but here we are
  11. Oh so very sad. Another modelling legend has been lost and very young at 63. Japanese lifestyle is usually so healthy and and long lived. So sad He seemed to have an incredible passion for racing and models. I really hope there is a drive to keep what he started going at the same detail and quality level that he demanded. MFH needs to continue. He was in the middle of building a Pocher Rolls Royce Phantom II as his personal build. Perhaps that kit…. I wish him and his family and friends peace?
  12. Blast from the past, thanks guys Funnily enough I had to revisit her earlier this year as I knocked the bike off the shelf and broke the front forks and knocked off the fuel tank. I left her like that for a bit out of shame, but then bit the bullet and repaired. She got some surgery with a brass rod inserted into her front tube...something I should have done to begin with as it is much harder with all the wiring and stuff in the way. Broken green plastic kit tube, forks are loose and flopping. Fitting a brass rod A brass sleeve installed into the tube for better strength; the brass rod will telescope through it. Back up and front forks working and turning again. Collateral damage restored.
  13. Indeed I think a lot of artistic license is brought about by palaeontologists when they infer anything about dinosaurs: soft tissues, colouration, vocalization, abilities and mobility. They only find bones and try to infer all the rest. The death of Nedry is also very different in the book vs the movie….quite a graphic end to him and the Dino is far larger than in the movie. http://jpjurassictimeperiod.blogspot.com/2011/06/preview-dennis-nedrys-death.html
  14. December brought me a Sherline collet set for my lathe as a birthday gift from my wife And a BMW motorcycle kit for Christmas then I got the stomach flu and missed Christmas dinner and most of the week after ?
  15. Awesome build. Purchased the kit this past year and have it in the stash for another run...maybe 45 years since I first destroyed it?
  16. Nice build. Magnum would approve??? working on the figures and TC’s chopper now, then the Ferrari later
  17. I liked the Oh Boy Oberto ? Atlas Van lines was cool boat later on too
  18. Here is the reference for the real boat, trailer and tow rig that was for sale..kinda cool set up http://www.antiqueboatamerica.com/Boat/30_Feet_1967_U-12_Miss_Budweiser_Unlimited_Hydroplane_41685
  19. The decals are decent. perfect fit on the head covers a little thick, unsharp and textured but certainly passable…and much better than nothing! We shall see what the other larger decals look like?
  20. That’s the newer Bud, jet engine propelled This kit is the old girl with a Merlin v12 in her. Similar tow rig though
  21. The real boat and towing rig was for sale! I found a listing photo of it a while ago when researching...will see if I can find it again. Would be great for them to re-pop this as a kit with a trailer....not likely
