  1. Is the engine block giving us a hint at body colour??
  2. You are flying along!
  3. That is a beautiful car, been drooling over a few of those big 1/16's on E bay as well I know you will do the kit proud, so following along
  4. Maybe I will skip forward a bit and show what I did to my wheels now I have a particle sand blaster at work I use to clean the internals of dental crowns etc. Decided to try and strip the hand painted wheels with it so as to not damage the spokes. Of all the work that was done before I got the kit, I think the spoke painting was actually fairly decent...but hopefully I can maker them even better Inside the blaster Halfway done Finished and mounted The sandblaster leaves a nice rough matt surface that I can now spray and I hope to get good clean spokes
  5. I will have to check....will get back to you later They are plastic moulded by the way We had a discussion on another thread about making metal spokes, I will try to find it ahh here it is, Harry P's gorgeous 1928 Mercedes build thread, wheel construction on pg 1 http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=94816&page=1
  6. This looks like cool kit Looking forward to you bringing it back from the dead
  7. Reposting a lost build thread of mine, I have waited a week to make sure the site settled into the new server. This is for the better as I can put it into the Big Boys where it belongs, but I am sorry to lose the comments and help that I had received from you guys, so please feel free to reply again! And here we go The kit as it came to me for $30 CAD ] Wheels and sprues...some items were started and painted but you expect that in an abandoned kit on sale The biggest surprise was the bonnet...a ton of CA glue and a bit of a mess My plan is to restore this car to how I would want one. I will disassemble everything I can that won't damage the kit. I have some plans for exhaust system, engine and interior leather work Leaving it here to get some office work done before I have to fire myself Cheers, Scott
  8. What a fantastic build, you have some superb skills Thank you for opening my eyes to these wonderful model kits

  12. Fabulous build and good in progress photography as well Good Stuff!!
  13. Marvelous build and I appreciate the tips and tricks details you give out I have started a 1/16 scale Academy Minicraft 1948 MGTC and will use your Merc as inspiration Was worried about the plastic moulded wire wheels, but now will quietly paint them and be happy not to string my own Fine job and great probem solving skills too Scott
  14. Superb!
  15. Holy snap she is a big girl...get a sense of size comparing the frame vs the Tamiya thinner bottle You are doing a great job!
  16. Superb, simply superb
  17. You nailed it! Looks great
  18. You are very talented and the build is coming along nicely Thank you for posting the Model Car Garage picture of the dash parts...they have tons of useful detail parts, so appreciate the source
  19. Have seen a few of these posted as finished kits, but never from right out of the box like this. I appreciate you taking time to detail it for us and see what is involved in making a MH model. Tons of parts! Are you kidding me, rods and pistons! Unreal detail level. I would love to get my mitts on one of these kits; MH has refocused manufacture on larger kits, so my favored 1/20 scale is rare Best of luck with your build, will be following along for sure Scott
  20. Cool little car in both model and real form
  21. Fantastic job!
