  3. Being glad that the UK has a National Health Service. So I was able to let me go to my GP, be sent to a hospital immediately for a battery of tests to check on my potential heart problem (arrythmia). And it didn't cost me a penny. steve

  8. I built one of these in the early 1970s when it came out. Mine was done as a rally service 'barge' (as the support vehicles were known then). steve
  9. Something I've never really understood is using 3 (or sometimes 6) carburetors on a V8 engine. Surely 2, 4 or even 8 would produce a more even fuel flow? Can anyone explain it, simply? cheers steve

  11. It was called "Razor edge" styling and was popular in the UK in 1950s. Triumph made a bigger 4 door saloon called a Renown at the same time as the Mayflower. The Mayflower was an sold as an upmarket small car but wasn't a great commercial success. steve

  17. Mike G, There are two reasons that wouldn't happen: 1. It is illegal in the UK to take any roadkill that you have hit with your own vehicle. 2. I have been a vegetarian since 1977... steve
  18. Hitting a pheasant in my Saab 9-3 convertible and unfortunately for the bird it was terminal. The when I got home I found it had knocked the foglight out. (Luckily fixable though.) Spoiled the rest of the drive home though, It was great before, sunshine, top down and rock CDs on the player... steve
