  1. I think one of the reasons that JDM builds aren't that popular is because those kits (by aoshima, fujimi...etc.) are sold for sky-high prices here in North America......my LHS sells them for $60+ for any JDM models. Anyways, I travel to Asia at least once every year and i stock up there enough for me to last a year they are actually really cheap in Asia
  2. Very nice, we need more JDM here
  3. Very nice, where did you get that sweet exhaust? Scratch build? Thanks!
  4. Yea, they need some sanding to cover up
  5. Finished last week, thanks for checking it out
  6. Give Tamiya's TS-71 Smoke a try, it works like a charm. However, few tips when using it. 1. Shake well 2. Make sure there is exactly no dust on the windshield when you spray 3. Spray in light coats, wait about 5-10 mins between each coat 4. Don't spray too many coats or you might end up over tinting it (it doesn't look that tinted when you spray, it gets darker afterwards) Good luck tinting
  7. nice lookin bug
  8. Because of poor lighting, headlights look fogged up, but in real life its clear
  9. Re-post because didn't get good pictures last time, built last year, Revell kit, pretty nice fit overall. Thx for watching! Chris.
  10. One thing I sometimes do is I got some metal/copper wire from hardware stores and kind of shape it using pliers, works pretty well for me!
  11. is that a real car???? very well done! But if I built it I would chrome the side mirrors IMO
  12. nice, I built a corvette c6 by revell a while ago, there it is on my display picture. I built it pretty much stock, metallic red and chrome rims, took a lot of time detailing the engine bay, which i think is one of the main elements that makes this kit pop out. If i had a black zr1 i might not go with black wheels because it kinda makes it dull IMO.
  13. nice, we need more tuners in this forum!!!
  14. nice interior detail!
  15. Welcome!
  16. Thanks very much for your help, yea I am planning to drop by wheels and wings soon, and thanks for reminding me of hobby king. I am pretty familiar with the guys over at Hornet Hobbies, I even have my work being displayed by them right now
  17. Hi there people, I have built 2 1/24 model cars OOB, both Revells. I have to say that they turned out fairly well, but however after building both of them out of box I would like to pursue aftermarket parts, such as rims, spoilers, PE parts and such. I live in Toronto and I have trouble finding hobby stores that sell aftermarket accessories, would any one in the Toronto area inform me if there are any sources of stores that I can get them from? Or, are there any good websites that sell aftermarket accessories that offer shipping and have a good variety? Many Thanks, Chris
  18. Hey there, just completed my Corvette C6 just before the year ends. Glad to finally have it done after 3 months. Built box stock, but added carpets plus wiring details to the engine bay. Also modified hinges a bit for more realism. I sprayed Tamiya metallic red with a pearl clear finish over it. It should be more sparkly and shiny, sorry for my crappy camera. The car looks better in real life. This is my second model, my first one being a BMW Z8, also by Revell, which I built when I was 15, I am now 16 years old and heck yea I like to build these cars. Anyways, can you guys tell me, is it good enough? I mean I am pretty proud of how it turned out, considering I ran into many troubles (ye still a noob hehe). Open to all comments criticism here! BTW sorry I missed some pics they were too big to upload, idk why....
  19. Hi all, nice to meet you, I am Chris, 16 years old (17 in like 3 months, don't want to grow up ), from Toronto. I have been modelling since I was 10, both R/C and scale modelling. I enjoy doing both, but in recent years I focused a lot more on scale modelling. I have a finished Revell BMW Z8 that I am quite proud of, might post some pictures of it later. I am currently working on a Revell Corvette C6. I have liked cars since the day I was born, and I find modelling my main hobby (although I play video games occasionally), I still enjoy modelling better. I really hope more teenagers these days will give modelling a try. Anyways, nice to meet you all and hope I can learn a lot from this site! Cheers..
