  1. Spent an hour or so on it today... so far, so good. Now, the roof looks really high! A chop is a must!
  2. This is a really rough body. lots of flashing, sunken areas, mis-matched mold seams... First order is to get rid of those fender flares and get the wheel openings looking a little better. Some plastic is going to be needed to get the front view better.
  3. This is going to be my first full-on custom build... Starting with Revell's Street Machine kit. My plan is for a lot of work... top chop, shorten the body, custom built pick-up box, lots of trim shaving, Fuch-style wheels, etc... hopefully ending up with something that looks like pic #2. Thinking about the same colour too.
  4. Very nice! Love the colour.
  5. I had a '78 Warlock full size truck back in the mid-eighties. Love those step side Dodges. The 360 engine had LOTS of power - rear tires didn't last too long when the 18 year old driver had a lead foot and gas was reasonably priced. This one isn't a great kit out of the box but it brings back some good memories. Big block instead of a 360, chintzy decals and a gril that just doesn't fit right... but it does the job.
  6. From more than a few years ago... The colour doesn't come across that well in the pics - it's Ford Chrome Yellow single layer car paint. Looking at the pics makes me wish I'd spent more detail time on this car, but it looks good in the cabinet. One of my real life dream cars.
  7. Super nice job!

Thanks for the compliments! I really wish I had spent more time on the body - go figure, I'm a body man - but it looks good from a short distance.
  9. I'm not sure what the colour is... it's just something I mixed up. I wanted that shade of red and picked one out of a universal colour deck. Thanks for the great compliments!

Another one from 7 or 8 years ago... I should have spent more time on the body, you can still see some molding and script lines under the paint. Didn't use any primer... That damned hood just won't fit right!
  11. I did this about 8 years ago. first time using BMF. The body was warped pretty bad, took a bit to straighten it out. Paint is single layer car paint (I'm a bodyman/painter by trade) and layed down a little too thick. i lost some detail under the paint, as well as making the hood script to hard to define for foil. but it looks nice in the cabinet.
  12. Been building for probably over 40 years, off and on. Cars, mainly. Retired now, means I might get more time at the work bench.
