  1. OK, back on this one again. Eduard provided four sets of engine instrumentation, but I'm reasonable sure that only the inboard side had the instruments, though the viewing windows are on both sides of the panels, as left and right side cowlings were interchangeable.
  2. It may not look it, but some dark gray washes have had an affect. (I'm not real sure why the rear seat looks brownish, as it's the same RLM 02 like everything else.)
  3. I thought the original sled looked sort of anemic (I had built one earlier), so I'm building a new one, and I'm much happier with the overall proportions now.
  4. My patience finally ran out at the time I was seriously working on this, so I went out and bought a new Paasche airbrush hose to enable me to finally get to some painting. (I discovered that my little Iwata already had an Iwata to Paasche adapter, so I've now been able to use this for all of my airbrushes, Paasche and Iwata.
  5. OK, here's a photo of the photo (see how I did that?), of an asymmetrical load I'm (sort of) intending to duplicate on this machine. I presume this to be an SD or SC1000, and had a fellow forumite send me one for use on this project, though it won't actually be hung from the aircraft, but will instead, be placed on a homemade sled.
  6. Ye old wheel well gusset installation. Kit instructions are really lousy here, allowing the modeler to be quite creative in their installation sequence, or just figure it out slowly. I have no idea if these are correct or not, but since I don't typically worry about wells too much, I'm OK with it.
  7. Actually, I've been meaning to update, just haven't seemed to get to it. Thanks, G. If I can pull off the paint scheme the way I want, it should look pretty darned cool, I think. I've only ever seen this scheme done once in 1:32, and liked parts of what he did, but not so much on other parts.
  8. If you're referring to a swivel knife, Bill, and It seems that you are, I have never, ever had good control with one of those, and I have a really good one. It may work really well for some, but certainly not for me. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, I appreciate the thought.
  9. For me at the moment, it's cheap, cheap, cheap. The less I spend, the better. Probably my first half dozen cars will be done mostly OOB curbside, and even then they're taking way too long. Adding a bunch of additional junk to each, would only prolong the time until I see finished results, and I don't feel like waiting.
  10. It's actually a shame, but a fantastic LHS here simply will not lower his prices to be competitive with many on-line retailers, so I buy from them instead of him. The owner and I have been good friends for a very long time, but I just don't see that as justification for paying more than I have to.
  11. Not my folks, but my own decision, when I reached that stupid age of "real men don't keep toys and comic books", so I pitched them all myself. Little did I know that years later I would grow to seriously regret that decision.
  12. I have a few of those comic books now, chased them down a few years ago during a "nostalgia craving".
  13. I found myself doing that once or twice too, Tom. Seems easier under certain conditions to control the car instead of the knife.
  14. I always purchase from wherever I can get the item the cheapest. I have no particular loyalties to anyone.
  15. I've been using 20lb CO2 tanks for years now, and will never use a compressor again, not for hobby stuff anyway.
  16. I tend to do just as much (or as little) modeling in the summer, as I do in winter.
  17. Tomatoes, radishes and a few other goodies for me, next month. I could do it now, but want to enclose the area beforehand.
  18. I'm finding that a good amount goes directly into the trash, but it's the nature of the process, I guess.
  19. Thanks, G. It should be a snap to finish, though somewhat time consuming. Most of the smaller items for the bunker (lights, junction boxes, access ramps, etc.), will be scratched up, then multiple copies cast, saving me gobs of time. One of my biggest problems to overcome, will be to recreate the effect of the wooden forms markings in the concrete finish, but I think I have a handle on that; we'll see, I guess.
  20. Interesting. I've never really been drawn to the desert campaign vehicles for some reason, but may eventually do an M3 Grant or Lee in an Africa unit anyway.
  21. I like it, Tom. My idea is just a sheet of paper in the middle of the sleeve, allowing for viewing decals on both sides of one insert.
  22. While I agree that would be best, it's not at all easy for me to do, though I think I'm getting a little better/more confident. And thanks, the color did seem to work out OK.
  23. Very nice, and fast too.
  24. That color looks just great.
  25. Camaro looks great!
