  1. I have many references to help, these two perhaps being the most useful.
  2. I have a wager with some friends that I'll have at least one project finished for the nationals next year in Omaha, and this will be that entry. After attending at least three national conventions, I've always wanted to enter, but it just never seems to happen; I intend to change that next year. Obligatory contents shot, (I sort of went nuts with the AM, but at least should now have the ability to make it as "busy" as I see fit).
  3. Thanks again. Finally getting more BMF on this puppy, but it's a very slow process for me.
  4. I don;'t know, it looks good to me, very similar (if I recall properly), to the way mine was, way back when.
  5. Glad to see you making some progress here.
  6. Not my favorite year Cougar, but I still like them. I'll look forward to seeing more.
  7. Indeed it is.
  8. This afternoon, some moron was ringing the daylights out of the doorbell, so I went up to see what was what. There was my roommate, storm door handle in hand, looking very frustrated. The storm door had been pulled tight, is quite a tight fit in the opening, and he had no way to open the door. Kind of funny actually.
  9. This may be fairly petty, but I finally ordered a book that I've been wanting for a very long time now. I bought the book (from an Amazon seller) two weeks ago, and found out today that it's supposed to be delivered on the 10th of this month, three weeks after ordering.
  10. Thanks a bunch. It's Duplicolor white primer. I had a fair few issues getting the root beer to fill a bunch of scratches showing in the primer, but that had more to do with very poor body prep than anything else.
  11. I hadn't touched this in about a week, but I can now proudly proclaim that the interior is 100% finished (or as finished as it's ever going to get). I have a project waiting in the wings that's massively important to me, but I won't start it until after I wrap this one up.
  12. Sad to see these problems develop so late in the game. Still looks cool though.
  13. I love it; I'll be starting one soon myself. Where did that hood come from? My kit (Monogram) only has the grabber hood. Also, was your front end piece a really lousy fit?
  14. I'll probably try something like this,... 70 or 80 years from now. Amazing.
  15. Very nice. I'll soon be starting a '71 GTX, and seriously considered purple, but have opted for a dark blue instead. I'll be eyeballing this, that's for sure.
  16. My thoughts and best wishes are with you, Vince.
  17. OK, I couldn't remember which was which. I have several really nice books on the ship, but didn't feel like looking through them just now.
  18. Good luck with that, Joe. I've never, ever entered the nationals, even though I've been to several. In 2017, I intend to rectify that in Omaha, entering (I hope) at least four different categories.
  19. Right. To slightly exceed minimal, was still insufficient. I guess that was my point. I can see their perspective at the time, as no one expected that a problem or group of compounded problems, would ever sink the ship. Sad stuff. I also recall that two? of the propellers were never designed for reversing, or that in itself might have assisted and perhaps even helped avoid the collision in the first place.
  20. There's also a forum related to the Titanic specifically, and Olympic class in general, and includes large areas for modeling subjects. TRMA
  21. Like yourself, I have a keen interest in the Titanic, though I'm certainly no authority on the subject. I understand that a decision was made to limit the lifeboat configuration so that it met only minimal standards, as the designers didn't want to hang lifeboats all over what was touted as an unsinkable ship, believing that would convey an undesirable impression.
  22. Perhaps my most ambitious project, and it shouldn't be all that complicated at all, is to mate the AMT and Revell/Monogram '70 Challengers, to create a better '70 R/T convertible.
  23. That's a very interesting concept, Matt, very interesting indeed.
  24. I'm sure that's true, Harry, When my favorite radio station plays ads, I mute the stereo, when I DVR a program, I blow through the ads at high speed to get back to the program. Some of the sites I frequent (not this one) even ask me to disable Adblock, but I won't do it. I've always tried to avoid ads as much as possible.
  25. Amen to that. Ads really annoy me, so I kill them all.
