  1. Apparently it's a somewhat random thing, Joe. My roommate received this a few days go. He has no interest in helicopters, so he gave it to me. The M3 book you received, is one book on the American half-tracks that I don't yet have, but will probably get eventually.
  2. Reclaiming that old wood is cool. Not 100, but my old house was built in 1938, and had hardwood floors throughout.
  3. Nice! Thanks, Joe. I think I've only seen one of those movies, and had no recollection of it. Looks cool though.
  4. Posture is OK (will need some "help" to sit high enough, but the wheels (as you suggested, Ace), sit way too far inside the wells. This is certainly not acceptable, so I'll need to jury rig some wheel extensions.
  5. And with the interior bits that needed it, now being given the semi-gloss treatment. I don't know about anyone else, but I think this looks 100% better.
  6. Very nice. I can only hope for such results.
  7. Your paint looks killer too, Rob. Nice job.
  8. I thought the first photo was of a real car. Nice.
  9. All right now, my semi-gloss has arrived, so I can give the seats and such a decent semi-gloss sheen, instead of that dreadful dead flat black.
  10. I already have the Tamiya and Revell bugs on my Model Roundup wish list. I'll look forward to grabbing the Tamiya kit first, perhaps some time this year.
  11. I may have to grab one of these kits yet. A friend had a Bug in high school, and we had such fun in that little car.
  12. If I were to ever do a Cobra, and I might, blue is probably the route I'd take too.
  13. My stash, at the moment, stands at 20 cars even, but I imagine I'll add another dozen or two in the next year or two, then I'm finished.
  14. Yep, once I dry fit the body, I'll have a much better understanding of what's what. Speaking of epoxy, that's how I intend to glue the wheels on. I desperately want to avoid the "bow legged" look that I've seen so frequently.
  15. I certainly don't have the cash for a new one, but my chair is holding up just great. Despite the fact that I have a funky back to begin with, my chair never seems to cause me problems.
  16. Very nice. Thanks a bunch. Looks cool.
  17. Well, Ace, my springs are firmly welded into place, and frame painted, so I doubt I'll change it now. I may well test fit it just to see what's what though. It bothers me worse that the door panels are wrong, but I'll just live with them the way they are. Hopefully, on my '71, I'll plan and check things a wee bit better before I dive in.
  18. Flashback. I used to use a Hamilton Standard electric drafting board for quite a while. I could draw with the board vertical, horizontal, or anywhere in between, and sometimes raised the board pretty high to enable me to stand while drawing. I actually miss those days, sort of.
  19. Thanks a bunch, fellas. Ace, I have no idea how it will sit (never checked), but I hope it ends up with the body parallel to the ground. Another thing I noticed, but made no attempt to correct, are the fact that the door panels aren't accurate for a '69. Perhaps they're a carryover from an earlier version of this cars' molds? Shane, there are several web tutorials on simulating wood, but I don't have any bookmarked links handy. Sorry. If I stumble across one of them, I'll post a link here.
