This will be interesting. I too have the same model in progress, but it's on hold for a while longer.

Eric Goodrich`s:: "IRON LUNG" - On the Workbench 2/8/16

Plastruct makes all kinds of stuff that is handy for us modelers. For the very small diameter styrene rods, I much prefer Plastruct to Evergreen. -
Reminds me of a few I built when I was a kid. Good luck with your project.

Mine certainly won't be illuminated, as the lights would shine right into the face of anyone viewing it. The way I've designed the layout, all should be visible from the front. The bay behind will be sealed off by blast doors in front, so the display will only be visible from the front side, basically.

I was out (apparently), of my favorite dark brown/rust color, so chose an alternate brown (Tamiya acrylic) to paint the wheel hubs. Doubtful these will ever be seen, but still,...

More minor stuff, but I've now painted the arm pads/rests, so interior is really nearing completion.

Same problem I have, Kev. Most of my web imagery, is of the bunkers post-war, and many modifications have been made to those bunkers over the years. The few books that I do have on the wartime bunkers, are filled with soft and grainy images, though I have been able to piece together enough data to scratch build a bunker that is, at worst, an amalgamation of miscellaneous elements from all of the various bunkers. Apparently, no two bunker complexes used the exact same architecture, which is perfectly understandable, but it makes piecing together an overall image of a specific bunker, very difficult, if not impossible. Attaching images is as easy as clicking on the "choose files" link, navigating to the specific folder where your image resides, then double-clicking it. This is as far as I've progressed to date, but I'd like to finish it this winter, to take to Omaha in 2017. We'll see how that goes.

Unfortunately, once cured, the acrylic I used is somewhat resistant to water, and alcohol will strip the chrome right off. Thanks, Joe. I really want to get this one in the "Under Glass" section, so that I can get a start on my '71. I've ordered some clear semi-gloss to spray the seats with, as dead flat black just looks really lame. Once that paint arrives, I should see an end to this car in another week or so.
-
Hard to go wrong with a '36. I'll be real interested to see what you do with this.
-
My feeling exactly. After all the work and expense of stripping a botched paint job, unless the car is unusually rare or expensive, I'll just grab another kit.
-
I really wish that I had some of my old car models to redo, but they're all gone now.
-
I think that the billboards on the '71, are part of what attracts me the most to the car.

More that I personally perceive as being obnoxious, Boyz, Carz, Noiz, Toyz, etc.

Very nice. I've yet to tackle the headliner area on a model, but sooner or later probably will, so thanks for the pointers.
