  1. Thank you very much. You can always just brush paint on the Acrylic base coat, then paint with the oils once that's dry. I just seem to use the airbrush for most everything, but it's not really required. Thanks, I think so too. I need to figure out what kit has the best rendition of these wheels, then buy several of that kit, as many of my Mopar muscle kits will use them. And I love these polyglas and red line tires; I'll be buying several more boxes of them, as the kit tires frequently look like some mutated off-road 4x4 truck mudders or some nonsense.
  2. Looking good so far.
  3. I'll be hunting some down too.
  4. Beautiful. I have a "weakness" for blue, so I'm really liking this.
  5. Jeesh, this looks great!
  6. Yep, I'm fairly familiar with most of the '70's Mopar colors, it's just that yellow doesn't seem that common is all. I suspect that many went with Plum Crazy or Hemi Orange. Yours looks good though, and I'll look forward to seeing more.
  7. Amen to that. I seriously doubt that I'll get too worked up over interiors on my kits until such time as I tackle a convertible, and that'll be a while.
  8. I thought so, but it's so difficult to see in the photo that I just wasn't sure. The MG 34 was a pretty darn nice weapon.
  9. Wheel check. These are the stock kit wheels that I wanted to use from the beginning, mated to my newly arrived AMT Polyglas tires. I like the overall appearance a lot. I considered using red lines, but I fear the red would look odd against the root beer color.
  10. Looking real nice.
  11. Yea, happens to me all the time, John. So much going on, on this site all the time, it's difficult to keep track.
  12. My favorite car model I ever did in my life, used the same color, ('32 Ford Phaeton). It should look just excellent on this body.
  13. OK, thanks a lot.
  14. No problem at all. I'll be churning out one eventually, I just have no idea when. Right now I'm thinking my next car will be the Monogram '71 GTX. I just popped you a PM too.
  15. I just applied a swatch over the entire groups of letters, then burnished down tight, trimming away the excess. I guess that's the way it's normally done. If I had to trim around all the individual letters, I'd go blind for sure.
  16. I've been judging at local and regional IPMS competitions for years and years now, Bill (mostly aircraft and armor), and as such have acquired a "critical eye". I seem to immediately overlook all the decent work that’s done well and jump directly onto the flaws that I see, which are quite frequent. Regarding my own models, some stuff I’ll certainly let slide, especially if the model is just for me, but if the model is destined for serious competition, I’ll make sure to take the time to do it as well as I can.
  17. This was my first shot at it, but it certainly won't be my last. It's a real nice technique for the small scripts, badges and such, and seems easy enough.
  18. Whenever I get around to doing a Roadrunner (I don't even have a kit at the moment), it'll be curbside, so no engine at all.
  19. I really like these old time cop cars. Looks good, and I really like the dash.
  20. I don't think it's OCD at all to try and get things to fit properly. Here's another thread on the same subject.
  21. Who is Don & Carol?
  22. A parcel was delivered today (Model Roundup) with these goodies. I've been wanting some new tires for a while now, and have use for them on a '69 GTX I'm currently working on, as well as a '70 Challenger T/A.
  23. Yep, that's where I'd look too.
  24. Overall, the polishing is starting to take on a life of it's own, looking better to me all the time. I'm still amazed that I can even do this, hopefully learning more and more as I move on, so that I can get better at it.
