Now that clear coats have cured, polishing has commenced. Roof polished, but hood and trunk are not. Still lots more to do.

What non-auto model did you get today?
Roadrunner replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Obviously not automobile related, but certainly hobby related. I’ve long been fascinated by WWII German U-Boats, and have been collecting the “U-Boot im Focus” series since volume #1, and now the 11th and 12th volumes have just been given to me by myself as a belated Christmas gift (an annual tradition with me). The addition of these two volumes, now brings the complete series up to date for me. I’m a happy pup! -
With the Root Beer now touched up, the first of the clear coats has been sprayed. I feel this may well be one of my best paint jobs to date. I’m very pleased.

Some good looking stuff on display there. My favorites, ironically enough, are the Cylon Raider and F-111. -
Whats the weirdest kit in your stash?
Roadrunner replied to mustang1989's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
OK. Sorry, Gaute, I just jumped the gun is all. Soar Art does a 1:144 80cm Dora, and even it is huge, but Hobby Boss does it in 1:72 scale, and that's the one I want. Affordable, large and cool; what's not to like? Not as gargantuan as the Dora, I do at least have the Trumpeter 1:35 self propelled mortar, the type used at the siege of Sevastopol. -
OK, I was finally able to get the black lacquer to enable me to paint the lower portion of car. I took a chance and spray bombed it, and much to my surprise, the Testors can gave me no problems whatsoever, going on as smooth as silk. Not much of an update perhaps, but at least a little progress. Still some more touch-ups to do to the Root Beer, then I’m ready for clear coats.

I'm not familiar with the real car at all, but your model is looking good.

Nice color, and I really like those wheels.

Very nice.

I'll look forward to seeing more. -
This looks truly gorgeous. I can only hope that mine turns out as nice.

Sorry to hear about your mom, Vince. Losing my own mother, was perhaps one of the most difficult things I ever had to endure.

The link goes to a 1:35 Dora, but the kit above is 1:144 scale. -
One of my meager purchases, as I begin to wind down the car model buying. HL, 40% off. While I was there, I also grabbed one package each of Premo! and Fimo, for another project I'll be starting in February.

I've read that F-16's have a fantastic roll rate. In fact, they roll over easy. -

I would have like to seen it when those planes scrambled upon takeoff. -

Well thanks, G, I appreciate it. Some AM decals, Master Spandaus, and I'm all set. At this point, I think I have every book out there on the D.VII's, so I have gobs of references. -
OK, after misplacing all of the interior components back in September (they were in a completely different model box, as it turns out), I can now resume work on this baby. I'm a happy pup!

I may have to poach that idea for myself. -
Sounds like an intriguing film to me, and I'll definitely watch it at some point.

1930fordpickup and myself just concluded a trade, based on a lot of trust, and it went seamlessly. Thanks, buddy, you're a good man.
