Pretty! Honestly... I cant wait to see the 41 painted up like that. Bob this is the guy to get the bendy rod from... http://www.ebay.com/itm/STYRENE-ROUND-ROD-120-PIECE-ASSORTMENT-LOT-6-SIZES-PIPE-/111889933610?hash=item1a0d28e52a:g:IJYAAOSwofxUgmd1 However it does have some minor issues: #1 as Andy said regular solvent glue doesn't work on it very well.. #2 some pieces change diameter from end to end (like .078 at one end and .082 at the other) once you are aware of this you can visually pick pieces that work. Other than those minor hiccups this stuff is great, and a decent value.

Thank you all for the kind words! Kind of a boring update here.. Rad mounts/intake work and my clearly scale seats arrived, they are awesome and very crisp and clean... lots of body clean up work in my future tonight.

This looks great Richard! nice work!

Thank you! and Outstanding! Just keep it separate from your other stock and keep an eye on that diameter issue. Nothings worse than grabbing a piece of it, and it being tapered or the glue not working. I think its a decent price for what you get as well.

Thats great!! I love it!

Thanks guys! I knocked out the lip/spoiler/wing last night... Balances it out nicely I think. My goal was to have all of the fabrication work done today... Not 100% there, but im not too far off.. Exhaust hole, Radiator mounting, some interior/engine details yet to go. Hopefully I can start slinging paint here soon: Quick mockup, its looking very nasty:

so much wow... great work as usual! -
Thank you Rich Bob and Bill. Thanks James! That is actually an interesting story.. I'm not using heat, I am using a different type of styrene rod than just typical evergreen. I get this stuff off eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/STYRENE-ROUND-ROD-120-PIECE-ASSORTMENT-LOT-6-SIZES-PIPE-/111889933610?hash=item1a0d28e52a:g:IJYAAOSwofxUgmd1 I stumbled on this on accident, it bends and holds its shape without heat.. The only downfall is, it doesn't glue well with normal styrene glue (I only use CA on it), and sometimes the pieces are not uniform in diameter from end to end. I have purchased this 120 piece assortment, and recently purchased just 120 pieces of the .080 in a custom auction from him. The diameter thing is a bit of a bummer, but once you are aware of it, you can pick and choose pieces so its not much of an issue. I am a really big fan of this stuff, I have never had much luck using heat.

Thanks gene! Making some progress... Front half of the frame and cage is pretty well roughed out.. Still need to add a couple bars, gussets, mounts and plates. Seats are just for position only at this point, I have a set of the clearly scale SRT seats on the way.

Thanks mike! Ill have to drill for those valve stems once I strip the chrome. I always forget about those. Cleaned this all up last night, and got the upper control arms mounted... just need shocks and CV Shafts now.. more lathe work in my future! Styrene Rod coming today so i can start on all the tube work. Rear end mounted and driveshaft made.

Under 100.00 on amazon and ebay... search "dental vacuum form" quite a sturdy little tool... 5" x 5" Area.. I'm just scratching the surface of what it can do... Lots of potential to make parts.

Oh man...... I'm tuned in for this, right up my alley... I cant wait to see this bad boy come to life. Have fun with this one John. -
Thanks guys! Im trying to wrap up the fabrication phase of this project this week so i can move onto priming, painting and detailing. We shall see how that goes, mostly the tube front frame section and interior/ roll cage at this point. Made it past a major hurdle last night, with help from my new vacuum form machine. I love this thing! Here is a quick play by play: First I cut up and smoothed a medicine bottle to the right shape for the rear inner fenders. Placed in vac former. Heat and swooosh some .030 styrene. Cut out 2 copies. Glued in place and rough cut. x2 Final cut and assembled. Now i need to work out the upper A-arms and shock mounts, and do some cleanup.

Thanks guys! I'm still not sure on the wing... It needs something, but I'm personally not a fan of giant wings.. I might try an overemphasized factory style spolier back there. I did manage to get the full belly pan roughed out tonight.

Thanks guys!! Im at that weird point in a build where im doing little things that need to be done, but arent very visually exciting... As Andy says, "Stuff no one will notice, but they would totally notice if it wasn't done correctly" Little update: Motor mounts made, engine pushed back, final dry fit position, made lower strut mounts. Recessed a tube into the firewall, so the exhaust of the turbo can exit out the fender. Started the side skirts.

I have had mine about a bit over a year... no real issues.. I bought a second just to have a spare... it hasn't been out of the box. My dad and I both use it for 1:1 scale touchup and hobby projects... I cant stress enough how nice the spray pattern is.. you can kind of see that on the box in my second pic. When they have a coupon/sale they are 9.99, I figure if i can get a year out of it for that, I am doing okay.
