  1. Thank you for the kind words. I’m still trying to do most of my roof chopping like this. Pre-war cars and pickups like 1920s through 1940? will allow itself to go this method. However to chop a roof like a 49 Ford or 49 Mercury or 49 to 52 GM, you might have to do some kind of a variation of this on the A & B pillars. Kit Karson is one of those who has promoted this method and has perfected it in my opinion. there are more modifications on the way. Stay tuned.
  2. Beautiful car, and yes I do, I like the 49 through 52 GM’s. My fondest memory is my dad‘s 51 Chevrolet he owned. It was a mild custom. I have my fair share of 49 Fords, mercury and 51 Chevy customs going right now. All old-school customs.
  3. Phase 2 has begun. This is the result of a late night chopping session from last night. Chop has been done in the Rolling Bones style with 5 scale inches out of the back and 5 1/2 scale inches out of the front. Some cleanup is necessary to do, but it’s there. Stay tuned.
  4. I love it, I’m glad to see somebody else willing to cut these up besides myself.

Really nice work, I’m always chopping mine. Keep it going.
  6. OK guys, getting ready here for round two. I wasn’t trying to cause any kind of trouble. i’ve started my parts gathering. Also my inspiration for this build. The second photo is a 32 Ford Tudor that was built by the Rolling Bones Hot Rod Shop. But I’m not going to try to replicate the 241 louvers in the roof insert. Mine will be build along these lines. we will see how this goes, keep smiling.
  7. Here is where I am at on my 32. The paint has not turned out as well as I was hoping. During my final assemblies I have been dealing with having to stop fix paint chips & etc. This has left me with a lot of dissatisfaction. Getting into my final assemblies all I have left to do now is mount the headlight bar and suddenly it’s not cooperating and there’s glue everywhere so I’m stopping at this point. I am considering starting up another 32 Ford Tudor but maybe as a separate post here on the forum because I think I’m running out of time for the deadline. This car is going to go back into the box and maybe later this week I’m going to blow it all apart and strip the paint and start from scratch. I’ve been enjoying the builds here, thank you so much for letting me participate.
  8. Happy Sunday everyone, I got home from church this morning and decided it’s time to glue up the frame into the body and fender assembly. I just had to mock this up. The stance is right where I want it. Enjoy.? cheers?
  9. Paint is practically complete except for a few minor bits to touch up, like instrument insert and steering wheel trim. I still need to foil the windshield frame. Soon the assembly process will begin. Cheers
  10. please let us know if this is going to happen, that is - letting the deadline slide on the 15th. It would certainly help me out in my build. This last weekend I was able to finally shoot some collar & Clear on my 32 Ford sedan build. I’m letting gas out now so I can polish it out.
  11. I finally got the Cadillac engine put together, it came out of the AMT 49 Ford coupe. I have also begun to get primer sprayed on the body and frame. Hopefully I’ll be getting to color here real soon.
  12. Looking good there Kit.
  13. The 60 Starliner is a must have for me. Besides that - my money is safe.
  14. Guys, I am glad to see that these kits are out, especially the altered wheelbase. I do have a question and I am not trying to question anyone’s integrity here, but is the shape or curvature of the cowl, back edge of the hood and windshield and dashboard correct in shape? Or is it a little too rounded or curved ? It looks quite rounded to me. I am just curious before I fork out a good chunk of money for this. It seems that some of the manufacturers here as of late have been having issues in this area and I can cite some examples. Thanks for all you guys keeping an eye on these things and letting people like me know when it’s up and available, thanks and have a good day
  15. I’m planning on picking up the altered wheelbase Dodge because I want to use that engine and other parts in a couple of projects. It looks nicely done.
  16. Update: I’ve been working on the interior and rear half of the body. I scribbled out the rear door last night. There is some cleanup to do, but it all looks good. I have the side windows set to be filled with sheet styrene to make my sedan delivery. And I found a Cadillac engine out of the AMT 49 Ford kit to use.
  17. Here is my update : I finally got some time at the workbench today. I went ahead forward and I’ve got my padded roof insert done and my padded running boards done as well. The last photo is the inspiration for this build. And as you can tell, I’m building this as a sedan delivery. Thanks for looking cheers
  18. Things are moving along well for the body modifications. Now it’s time for me to turn to the suspension. my plans are to use the drop front axle modified from the 32 Ford kit and I do want to use the big and little white walls from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland. The rear end right now is from the Revell 32 Ford, 9 inch Ford rear end modified, but now I’ve managed to find a Corvette 1970s vintage rear end diff set up so which to choose?
  19. Here is my update. I have filled the cut seams with 3M glazing buddy and now it’s time to send this stuff off and reestablish lines and door lines. I’m definitely taking an early 60s show car look to this with the rear pan. Time for some primer and then some more sanding.
  20. Update on my 32 Ford Tudor: The plan is to cut down and graft in the rear custom piece from the Monogram Lil Coffin. I think that this will work with my early 1960’s look. It looks like I’m gonna have to relocate the gas tank. It may go into the inside of the interior in the extreme back. What do you guys think? Any ideas? The suspension I’m using is modified from the kit
  21. I decided what I needed to do is do a wedge chop. I cut 2 mm out of the C pillars and about 4.5 mm out of the windshield posts. I kept the back window stock height. Cheers
  22. I’m having to start over. My first attempt failed because the body was from the old Revell re-issue of the orange crate and the condition of the body was not good. So I did manage to find the more correct 32 Ford.Tudor to use. It’s not going to be an accurate representation of the Lil coffin, but it will serve as my inspiration.
  23. Here are some of the main parts that I will be using. Mine will be similar to but not exactly like the first version of the Lil Coffin.
  24. Count me in, I have a couple of ideas in my head.
  25. I am hosting my model car club’s build-demonstration day at my local hobby shop (with their permission of course).
