Frank, Looks good. I just finished the Lindberg version of the same kit. It went together pretty well and the hood top and sides were separate pieces. Painted mine yellow, but messed up the side pieces for the hood with some black overspray. That's what you get for trying to do too much painting at the same time. LOL . It's way too cold here to paint now, so it's looking like it might be springtime before those pieces get re-painted. In reference to the "big block" that ZIL 111V mentioned, it was 4 and 1/2 feet long and cast iron!!! Incredible when compared to the way things are built today.

Jerry, WOW!!! Just when you think you've seen it all. I'm just getting the little extras added to my builds working with plastic and now this. How's the brass to work with? I know it's somewhat soft, so it must be easy to bend into shapes? Do you machine your own stuff?

Brendan, Sweet build you have going on there. What is this polyester putty you speak of and where can you get it?

Master Builder Profiles

I personally think this is a great idea. Gregg, you wouldn't have to look any farther than the membership of this forum to keep you in subject material for quite some time. -
Jeff, Love 'em or hate 'em? How could you not love 'em? Unless I miscounted, that's 11 builds of a quality that I can never match in my lifetime. Keep up the great work man. I always look forward to seeing what will come off your workbench next.

Harry, I remember that episode well. That series is one of my all-time favorites. As for the car, I'm going for real this time. Gotta improve on my 3 for 11 so far.

How about some Re-Introductions?
lonewolf replied to Steve H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think it's about time to bump this topic to the top again. As of today, we have 1800 registered users of this forum but we've only had 64 replies to this. Let's here from some of you other guys. With the incredible growth over the last few months I've also noticed that the talent level has increased accordingly. There's some pretty amazing building going on with you guys. It'd be interesting to hear what makes you tick and what or who inspires you. Don't be shy. Step up to the plate and take a big swing!! -

Brent, Beautiful piece of work man. If I recall correctly, I've seen that before. Where else have you posted those pics? -
Dirk, Just finished looking around on your fotki site. WOW!!! I don't understand how it's possible for one guy to have so much talent, but you've got it man. It does my heart good to see young guys like you pumping out such quality builds. Looks like this hobby will keep thriving with guys you coming on the scene.

I recently started an AMT kit of a '62 T-bird convertible. It looked like it would be a great build with lots of detail not normally seen in their kits (heater hoses, separate wipers, great looking white walls with nice wire wheel covers, etc.). As I normally do, I googled everything to do with the build on the computer. Then I went through the parts, cleaning any flash from them, and started painting. I had the chassis painted and was painting the suspension pieces when I realized that the whole lower front suspension (moulded in one piece) was missing. I had just opened the kit, so the missing part was obviously the manufacturer's fault. Back to Wal-Mart I go, hoping to score an exchange on the same kit. As luck would have it, they didn't have anymore, although I did manage to exchange it for another kit I had been looking for. I was wondering how often you guys run across the problem of missing parts in new kits. This is the second time it's happened to me in the last couple of years.

Hi, Guys! Just Came On...
lonewolf replied to Uncle Mike's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Uncle Mike, Welcome to the MCM forum. You'll find this a great place to hang out with a lot of talented builders to exchange ideas with. These guys are more than willing to help out with tips to do pretty much anything you can imagine. One of the rules is that you have to post here with both your first and last name. Just put your names in the signature box, found in the "My Controls section of the board. It seems to cut out all of the ###### you see on some other boards. Great idea for using a playing card for a tonneau cover. I could visualize it as soon as I read it.
