Chris, I'm not a big low-rider fan, but I do appreciate a well-done build. Beautiful paint and great BMF work. Keep 'em comin'.

"Other" forum back in business!!!!
lonewolf replied to cruz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Just the fact that this discussion is still ongoing here sets this forum apart from the others. if this discussion were happening on "the other forum" about something that was going on with "this forum", it would have been locked by now. You're a class act Gregg, and we appreciate the freedoms you allow us. -
Irvin, Super job of a great subject. Whose kit is it? The paint and chrome really POP!! Excellent.

Gee Frank. Sounds like a personal problem.

Mike, Sweet looking car. I'd love to see more pics.

How about some Re-Introductions?
lonewolf replied to Steve H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Time to bump this to the top again. We've increased our member count by 600 since the last time I did. Let's hear from some of you new guys as well as you guys that have been here for awhile but have'nt responded to this. We're a pretty friendly bunch here and it's kinda neat when we can get to know each other a little better. What got you into model building? How old are you? What makes you tick? Got any kids? Don't be shy guys and gals. Jump in and give it a try. -

Hi Guys & Gals. New (old) Modeler
lonewolf replied to a topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welcome aboard Gramps. Nice work on the cars and the diaramas. I think you'll like it here. -
James' I received the kit you sent today. Sent yours 2 weeks ago today. Hope you get it soon, if you haven't already. It seems to take longer than necessary when shipping from Canada to the U.S. and vice-versa. So much for free trade. Thanks James.

An Open Letter To Darin Basteo..
lonewolf replied to cruzn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My hat's off to both of you. It takes a big man to admit when he's wrong and an even bigger man to make the effort to set it right. That kind of maturity level is what sets this forum apart from the rest and makes it so enjoyable to spend time here. -
What Is It With Wives And Our Hobby!?!?
lonewolf replied to LVZ2881's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Canada Jeff, If you got the last good woman, I must have gotten the second last one. She never complains about anything I do relating to models, whether it be build time or what I buy.Yep, I got me a good one. -
Uelder, Your builds and your photography are both excellent. Keep up the great work!

For 24 years now, I have worked for Home Hardware here in Nova Scotia. My official job description is "Boom Truck Operator, although I could be driving anything from a 1/2 ton truck to a tandem axle with a 60 foot crane capable of loading building materials in a 6 storey building. I also do general carpentry around the store( displays, storage racks), custom cut kitchen countertops, etc. A jack of all trades, I guess you could say. Prior to this job, I worked for our Provincial Transportation Dept. as a truck driver/ snow plow operator. As well as the full-time job at Home Hardware, I have my own carpentry business doing renovations, decks, fences, etc. This is a great topic. While it doesn't put faces to names, it seems we get to know each other a little better.

Carl, Great job on a build that I've never seen attempted before. Having worked in construction for 30 years, I've got to say you're really nailing this one. I'll be following this one and look forward to seeing the finished product. -
You are a very talented artist. It's hard to believe these pictures of yours are done with colored pencils. Beautiful work. Keep 'em comin'.

Does Paint Go Bad?
lonewolf replied to notfastenuff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Notfastenuff, I use both acrylics and enamels, and enamels are the only one I have had any trouble with. I find that with colors that aren't used very often, once the bottle gets down to half full or less, they can harden up. I started adding just a touch of thinner to these and stirring it well. Seems to have overcome the problem. By the same token, I have paint that is at least 6-7 years old and have no problem with it. When using your enamels, if you notice them starting to thicken a little, add the touch of thinner to keep them flowing nicely from your brush. The same can be said of the acrylics, using water instead of thinner.By the way, there are no dumb questions on this board. If you need to know anything, just ask. With the talent that frequents this place, pretty good chance someone will have an answer for you. -
Awesome build Dave. I was following the build process on another site ( can't remember which one ). Great to see the finished job. Fantastic attention to detail.

Hello Again....
lonewolf replied to Jeff Sauber's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good to see you back Jeff. Nothing more frustrating than computer problems that us average guys din't know how to deal with. Here's hoping that's all behind you and looking forward to seeing more of your awesome builds. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the armpits of the scum who did this to you. -
That's pretty neat Paul, right down to the multi-colored wiring.

Raul, Some sweet lookin' Chevy trucks you're putting out there. I like 'em a lot.
