  1. was going thru my stash tonight and found this that I started awhile back. Can't decide on rims yet but it will lay on the frame.
  2. no booth, just a warm garage. all duplicolor rattle can, metalspeks silver base with metalspeks red top coat, no clear yet
  3. fresh paint
  4. update to the vert caddy. had to strip the 1st paintjob. got the new silver base layed out. gonna get sprayed a nice metallic red. the red in the pics is where I plan to tape off so it'll have some nice silver pinstripes. I might add some more inside them but I don't want to get to overboard on this one. Already have the interior sprayed in a darker red, which came out with a nice leather like sheen. input always welcomed phil
  5. haven't built the base yet, my bench didn't have enough free space so I used the plexi just to take the pics
  6. So, I just started on this tonight. Please ignore the fact that its from legos, money is tight right now and I have a few thousand pieces laying around. Once the glue dries the walls will be sprayed with some rock texture paint. The spray booth measures17'x25' and the work area measures19'x25'. I still have to add the side part which will be 12'x22' and will have 8' ceilings instead of 12' like the shop. also across the back wall of the shop will be a loft like shelf for storage uses. phil
  7. looks good, I am building one from an 80s caddy for when I get around to building my lowrider shop dio
  8. I remember a few years back someone used to make a resin flat hood to make the gn a regular regal but I lost the link to the site. I have tried to modify it my self but I always end up breaking the hood when sanding the body work
  9. been building tonight interior is done, old skool chain wheel and added a straight pin shifter knob added some strip plastic to the top for depth and a radiator from the revell 64 impala and here's the final ride height. I got the exhaust worked out, will have some big 3" chrome tips exiting under the rear valance. Phil
  10. duplicolor metalspeks silver and blue with a little pearl purple added in the clear. Supreme's filed down to fit into a set of 5.20s. Still working out the exhaust, either gonna go between the gas tank and frame out the rear or run under the quarters straight back. On a good note I am getting better with my paint jobs, I don't think I could get this thing any shinier. phil
  11. you sound like me, I hit the bodies with the polishing compound then some meguirs step 3, and if need beed a quick rub of the meguirs scratch x as sometimes there might be very faint swirl marks
  12. looks like a good turnout, sorry I missed it, the lowrider club had a meet and greet get together on saturday
  13. finally got around to starting the second car phil
  14. Davezinn's sexy impala over on LDC encouraged me to dig this one out, painted last year some time plastikote dark champagne. will probably have a matching interior color. painted this one with the new testors paints true blue over metalic silver phil
  15. can I get away with using duplicolor clear on it
  16. vert caddy
  17. been building tonight, 63 fairlane metalspeks blue over black base
  18. finished up this tonight phil
  19. well I found out the kit had a pair of bullets in it. got the body rubbed out and interior is fully assembled now phil
  20. making more progress on the merc had to do a small touch up around the rear window that I hope won't be too noticeable, installed the 59 caddy hubcaps. I'm still waiting for my LHS to get in some bmf, they have everything but the chrome sheets. phil p.s. anyone know where I can find a pair of chrome bullets for the caps? I only need two as there was no need to install the rear caps behind the skirts
  21. naw, once I build the base they'll be burried in the sand up to the bottom of the rims
  22. did some more weathering to the caddy, used the baking soda technique, what do you all think is it starting to look realistic? phil
  23. what wheels did you use? I've been thinking of using some 1/18 scale fore mine but I wasn't sure if they would look too small
  24. Barn has been rattle canned brown but looks to new, so eventually I'll dust it with some dirt to tone it down. I tried the salt tecnique on the trunk, I assume table salt is the prefered method as thats what I used. This is an engine I was messing around with from an old amt 64 impala, I might use it in there too. Somewhere under all that rust is chevy orange. Phil
  25. yeah I lost the interior, I think I might have thrown it away when I clean off the bench one time
