  1. a bit of a start on the caddy
  2. got all the walls and support beams in place, I cut it down to 21'x25'. Its gonna get a coat of dirty brown paint in the afternoon. Eshaver- I printed out the wall layouts from autoCAD, took about an hour for all four walls evilone- the caddy is a 59 project that I lost interest in, gonna end up weathering it to resemble something thats been in the barn since the late 70s or so. I thought I had posted pics but I removed the vent windows, painted it pearl white and had some pegasus stepped sleeves and rims
  3. Currently measures 20.5' x 40' in 1/24 scale but I may take 10' off the length. It will hold this 55 chevy, a 59 caddy, and probably another tri 5 chevy. phil
  4. some more work done
  5. the first lowrider I ever saw was when I was in new mexico in '99. I saw this one there that day too, trying to build from memory. phil so a little background on this from what the owner explained to me. the car was once gloss black but had faded over time, had brand new front and rear chrome, all side and window trim was gold (and will be too), had 14" cragars w/ 205/75/14, had a 327ci engine, interior was all red, rust was only surface with some minor rot on the lower quarters, 4 pumps 12 batts 7 switches (fbss-pancake-individgle rear wheels). I wish I had pics but I left my camera in the hotel room that day and he was getting ready to roll out after I talked to him.
  6. fresh paint, sage green, on a 63 fairlane
  7. body's rubbed out, just gotta wash of the excess wax and foil
  8. 49 merc, metalspeks red, gonna be using the cruiser skirts as well. I didn't use the same base coat as the 55 chevy so the flake doesn't pop as much phil
  9. thank ya kindly, I'm gonna start a new test body this afternoon, I got the three rust colors last weekend and my sister has about 200 different bottles of acrylic paint. (she does a lot of screen paintings)
  10. now I see what I did wrong, I was using the brush to remove the paint layers. Is there any specific min/max length of time to let alcohol sit on there? Also, when painting on the colors with the sponge do you use straight line strokes or circles? phil
  11. starting on the revell 49 merc tonight, gonna use the red metalspeks over a silver flake base
  12. thought I'd toss this one in too since the original pics don't do the color justice. Since I'm all rattle can and not set up for airbrushing I use the flip flop paints for my flake effects on a lot of my builds.
  13. better lit pics
  14. finished these early this morning. unfortunately we have that nasty storm coming up the east coast so its not to sunny right now. I'll get better pics later to really bring out the colors.
  15. 67 impala - These were the only rims I have that seem to go good with the paint. I painted the belly Chrysler black cherry and gloss black frame.
  16. 55 bel air - I would have like to see it slightly lower but this was the best I could do with the kit parts.
  17. thanks Ron, my new work schedule has given me plenty of build time. This one should be finished for September's meeting. I sprayed the interior the same blue but cant decide if I want to do a two tone with white or silver. phil
  18. looks great. if possible could you pm me this weathering tecnique you speak of? phil
  19. body is all polished out and I have a decision on wheels/stance. 62 tbird wires with 59 impala two bar cap. phil
  20. fresh paint, metalspeks blue and silver. Still can't decide which tires I like, 62 tbird wire wheels phil
  21. 61 impala finished phil
  22. nearing completion
