  1. The regal is DONE. This was loosely based on my first car, and I'd say its 85% accurate. The only difference being the hydraulics never worked (I didn't know anything about solenoids or charging batteries), the exhaust was non-existant beyond the cat, and it needs to be a little dirtier. If it it looks flawed it was intentional, trust me. Only thing left to do is I want to add in a hood prop for display purposes. And I need to print out my original plate for the back
  2. Just over a month to go. I personally can't wait, this being my first trek up north and all.
  3. one last update tonight as off to foil. I don't have much in the parts box in the area of 1/25 scale 3.8L engine parts so I made do with an air cleaner and a cut down intake from an old amt 64 impala.
  4. yikes!!! sounds like some of my earlier builds when I was still in the single digits
  5. sprayed the hood and trunk charcoal. now the body is done, just needs the top and foil.
  6. I'm not going to crazy with this one. The tape will make it easier to have the edges and top peeling back like the 1:1 did
  7. this is the donk gn kit, I believe the 80 model was the stubby one, it's probably gonna take some scratching yeah, that was just to get a rough idea of the texture. once the paint is cured out I'm gonna glue down a fresh piece of the tape, then spray it the correct maroon and maybe hit it with some powders to dull it out a bit
  8. here's the fresh spray on the regal while the tbird pics load up. color is dupli-color GM light brair
  9. I'd say you have one hell of a beauty there
  10. I've always used the pre drilled caps from replicas and minatures of maryland. the come in a few different colors and you get I believe three in a pack for $4-$5
  11. Will any of these work? http://cgi.ebay.com/AMT-ERTL-Model-Kit-21796P-DODGE-CHALLENGER-FUNNY-CAR_W0QQitemZ370338772815QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5639e9374f http://cgi.ebay.com/GENE-SNOW-RAMBUNCTIOUS-CHALLENGER-F-C-JO-HAN-MODEL-BOX_W0QQitemZ380209009965QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item588639152d http://cgi.ebay.com/1972-Dodge-Hemi-Challenger-1-25-kit-Vintage-MIB-Mopar_W0QQitemZ140385440602QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item20af9fd35a http://cgi.ebay.com/JO-HAN-70-442-70-CHALLENGER-FUNNY-CAR_W0QQitemZ220560493450QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335a6e0b8a http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Jo-Han-Challenger-Funny-Car-1-25th-Scale_W0QQitemZ150416776900QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item230589dec4
  12. Thanks for the help guys. I had seen an original sealed kit a few years ago at the mid atlantic nnl. The guy was asking $300, but the box looked like someone had played hockey with it ala the begining of ace ventura: pet detective. I wasn't about to shell out that kind of cash and take a chance. He kept saying to me "its still sealed though".
  13. well, looks like I'm staying at the days inn on highway 46. had planned to stay at the ramada but the website says their full
  14. what are these dvd's you speak of and where can I find them? phil
  15. So when I was 2 I destroyed a couple of my father's models. I have since replaced them all with new builds except for one. It was a challenger funny car but he cannot remember if it was call the ham town hemi or the hampton hemi. Do these names ring a bell to anyone? I'd like to try a build this one to finally finish out the line. He still has the original but now it is solid white with a black top. he did the best he could to piece it back together but it just looks sad. phil
  16. Something tells me name tags might be a good idea.
  17. already making my plans to return
  18. I just stuck it on to get a visual of how it will look. Once I finalize everything I will glue it down and spray it the correct color. This pic isn't of my car but a near dead ringer for the color and wheels, minus the different hood. Unfortunatly I don't have and pics of mine they were all 35mm and were lost in a basement flood.
  19. thanks. I bought this ride from a guy my dad works with, had a shot engine so I put a junkyard replacement in it. I threw three rods on the way home in 2001 after watching the Ravens win the superbowl. Unfortunitly I couldn't afford to fix it. using the donk kit. gonna have to rob some engine parts from the parts box to build the non turbo 3.8L V6
  20. should be asleep but I got the bug to build. Found a pic (not my ride but a dead ringer) added the vinyl top and trim
  21. added in trunk lip got it hinged: open closed
  22. The person I bought it from added the T-type hood and rear spoiler to it. It had two pumps, 4 batts, 2 switches and some 14" buick rally's with 185/75/14 whitewalls. I want to build it just like the real one, two tone dull brown and silver, charcoal colored hood and spoiler. general idea of the trunk layout. pumps were actually black, the spare was a stock sized 205/75/14 tire.
  23. great seller, even with the post office around my way being closed half the week I still got my package in 5 days. phil
