  1. started fooling with this one tonight, gonna be simple, thinking maybe a light blue or purple primer finish. Can't decide on wheels yet, tires are modelhaus T170's, with either: 1. caddy sumbrero's 2. 59 caddy caps 3. stock buick caps
  2. I got there around five last year and the place was packed
  3. not my dads but its the same one
  4. Does anyone do a 1940 chevy coupe? It could be styrene or resin. I want to build the car my dad had when I was young. It was either a business coupe or a standard coupe, can't really remember now.
  5. New Revell kit. Dupli-color GM lime green with multicolor flakes under final clear coat. Custom Decals by Franklin Ink, dark jewel green interior, pegasus 1109 wire wheels.
  6. Okay you asked for it, taken at 4am after a 9 hour shift delivering them pizzas and subs, I'm a little tired and my I eyes are hurting as I have spent the last hour prior to the pic waxing a few bodies.
  7. I'll be back, got my reservations set, this year I'm at the Ramada, not 15 minutes down the road. Should be there late afternoon Friday, gotta wait till noon to pick up my paycheck then I'm on the highway. Just look for this ugly mug (pic taken at 4am lol, may trim the hair before the show) Driving this 3600 lbs of American steel
  8. Not sure if this has been tried before or not but I for one have never liked the look of a kits fan belt molded into the pulleys, and I have never had any luck trying to layer up masking tape. I have not personally tried this yet but it looks like it could work, small rubber bands for doing up hair, 5/8" diameter and can stretch up to 2". If they work just think how many engines could be done on one pack alone.
  9. So Dr C, what salt and hairspray do you use?
  10. Simply put amazing and beautiful, although if I was in 1:24 scale I think it would hurt like hell to run into those taillights
  11. So I have a few ?s as I have never used one before, so please bare with me. Can these be used for rattle cans as well as an airbrush? How well do they cut down on the fumes? My sister and brother in law recently moved in with their 2 year old so I can't paint on the back porch like I used to and then leave the body to dry in the mudroom area. I have an open space in front of my bedroom window but the biggest concern is the smell, will the fan help to remove the areosol smell too, or at the very least cut them down?
  12. their actually the five spokes from the impala kit, wrapped up in pegasus hobbies 5.20s tires
  13. your good, I just threw the inside wall there to give a visual. Now that I have had some time to review the building plans, I think I may add in a loading door to the storage area on the right side of the building.
  14. That's why I stocked up. whats 20 bucks now when you could need it a year from now and not be able to find it.
  15. 3/16" foam board I picked up from the local dollar tree. its not like the kind I'm used to as it doesn't have the shiny paper coating and it seems to be a bit more denser, the shiny backed foam from elmers usually leaves behind chunks when I cut it but this doesn't. Also I payed $1 each as opposed to 2-3 at other stores, never know how long they will have them on stock so I bought 20 sheets
  16. thank you, I was gonna go simple but after seeing cranky's work I got inspired http://s13.zetaboards.com/B_n_B_Auto_Builders/topic/6747048/1/ (pic borrowed from cranky's topic)
  17. Sooo, I have spent the last few hours in autocad working out the design and started cutting some walls. Gonna be a slow build but I hope to have it done in time for NNL East in April, if not then Toledo. She's big, 24"x16"x10" (48'x32'x20'). Basic idea is a small hydro shop, lift and install bay on the left, and the right bay will have some fabrication tables. the right side of the building will house a show room in the front and the rear will be storage on the first floor and the office up top. Still got a loooonnngggg way to go yet, not to mention money in styrene. Gonna have H columns, I beams and roof trusses, (roof will be removable but the trusses will remain) Phil
  18. color is right on and that is some serious engine detailing my friend
