locoengr replied to Frank Steffens's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
PROUD member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers/Trainmen Teamsters Div 671...BLET is the oldest surviving union in the U.S. of A. I pray for everyone that has been injured OR lost their life in any work related accident and for the those along the gulf coast as well! Please take a minute EVERY day before you do that routine simple task and ask your self if it is safe to do so. GOD BLESS THE USA!!!! -

Looking For Aftermarket Rims/tires...
locoengr replied to locoengr's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Kurt, Obviously you saw my post on TS.... I also posted here as the more ponds you go fishin' in the better chance of getting a bite! Thanx again for your help!! -
First, I am looking for a couple of sets of rims that would work with Clint Freeman flotation tires. I want to use one set for the front of an AMT Pete wrecker. This has the front spindles and the rims snap on to said spindles. The AMT factory rims slide right through the CF tires. Does anyone know if the resin rims from American Industrial would work? Has anyone in fact tried AI's rims? They look really good. I suppose I could message AI and see if they would be of any help. I am also looking for a nicer tire, something more rubber looking. Something to use on the rear (drivers is the correct term?) I found some awhile ago and cannot find them back. Any suggestions?!!? Thanx in advance!! Bruce in Fargo

70's Ice Road Truck
locoengr replied to 41CHEVY's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice, nice work ont the Ice Road truck. We have not had cable for over ten years. I have not been on the road in close to three years so I had not seen much cable tv. A couple of months agao we gave in and got a dish. A couple of Sat mornings ago I was surfing and came across the "Ice Road Truckers" marathon on the History Channel. While I kept busy with chores around the house, I/we watched almost 8 hours of the show. I do not know how much I had missed before I stumbled across it, but..... We really enjoyed it! By 'we' I mean my wife and 10 year old son even got interested in the last three or so hours. I had heard some about the show and found a book on e-bay. What everyone goes through to get all that equipment moved is unreal! Did "Polar Bear" ever sleep? Sorry for going off on a tagent but I'll place the blame on the Alaskan Hauler build for making me wander off subject !! Bruce in Fargo -
