  1. I don't think so, not when it looks that good sir. Really dig the 69's and I used to not be a fan, but lately they have been hitting the spot. Looking on the 70 Chevelle, it looks great to me. What did you have to fix regarding side profile? I am dreading the chrome strip over the wheels. *cries*
  2. thank you sir!
  3. Man, I wish I went to highschool when you guys did. All I got were donked out Avalanches and wannabe rice burners. I have nothing against imported cars, in fact I really freaking love them, but throwing a 20 dollar muffler, and what would pass for a cardboard wing on your 95 neon doesn't make you cool. I had the coolest car for a year with a 94 Mustang GT and still that is NOTHING compared to what you would find in the late 60's and early 70's. I was born in the wrong decade.
  4. The movies always have sweet Chevelles don't they? I plan on building a trio of Chevelles. Wooderson's from Dazed and Confused Torreto's from The Fast and The Furious (2001) and Fast and Furious (2009) Unfortunately I have a 69 Goat to complete, then a Warthog before I start this trio. I'm going to start with Wooderson's cause his is stock, and clean, and I think doing a clean black paint would be awesome. Anyway figured I'd share. I will keep ya'll updated with progress after the Goat and Warthog are done.
  5. Very nicely done! Porsches are just gorgeous, and you certainly do this one justice. Well played sir.
  6. Can anyone recommend a good 79 Trans Am kit? MPC had one called the Black Bird, but I'm assuming it's similar to this one. I'm looking at building the Year One Bandit and that calls for this gen kit, but if it's really as bad as people say it is I don't think I want to bother with it. Lol.
  7. I am just blown away. It is beautiful. It's not simple but it's not something anyone would think when you say custom, but in a good way. Very well done, unique and original and well executed!
  8. I must say that while the othere concept firebirds I have seen look great, This is my personal favorite take on it. Its clearly similar to the camaro, as the firebird always was, but has the same subtle differences, some not so subtle, and thats what i dig about this. Do you have a paint scheme picked out? or do you plan on doing the Bandit style?
  9. Rock on man, I dig sporty lookin trucks like that.. get more pictures up here i want to see more!
  10. Now that i read the first rules that you can change the back ground.... i still say model... but some of my points may not still hold to be true. it just doesnt look real.
  11. Fake, Its all about angles.. I agree there are parts, specifically the passenger side windows that look way too glossy, but im sure there are things you can do to get that affect. I looked at a few parts.. one the rain on the windshield would be easy to get a spray bottle to give that affect, i mean especially if you are goin for realism. Then i look at the surface the model is on... first of all... its incredibly shinny in front to reflect the model.. but further back it looks almost like sandpaper... Then I look at the tent in the back right.. the furthest back peg is on the ground.. which if this were real would suggest that the front pegs were overlapping on the supposed concrete.. which just doesnt seem like a situation youd need a tent for... I think the table was angled with some sort of make shift surface..... i know... maybe not the most intelligent reply.. but thats just my first take on things... Also look in the back right... you can kinda see a surface change just before the gas tank, or the red container, whatever it may be.. then think of scale.. now if you bring it up next to the car, similar to the man, it seems like itd be way too huge.
  12. Im talking Distributor, coil, ignition, battery, brake, fuel.... I want the full nancy, an di need to know mostly what to buy... i can figure out how really on my own, annd with online tutorials.. but i dont even know where to begin as far as what to buy and stuff... so can people please help me out with whatever you may know?
  13. This is a scaled down version of what i hope to achieve in real life with my Ranger. As you can see right now its just body mods, using the railroad tubing for a roll cage, which has been a fun experience, I also have completely customized the hood, the yellow is from a 94 mustang GT, and the brown hood scoop is from none other than the GT-500. I also have a grill assembly not pictured, because its not completed yet thats going to sport the mustang look. Its fitting since this bad boy will have the 5.0 from the 94 mustang. Its also going to have Side exhaust, and independent rear suspension. So tell me, What do you think? critiques/ comments are more than welcome. what do you think of those rims?
  14. Available where?
  15. ok i need a Old school Ford Mainline, or Utility "Ute" resin body. 55- 57 preferable. Any one know where i could find one?
  16. Anytime i search google, or any site for that matter for bigfoot and snakebite photos, i get the same result, either pictures of the yeti, or just publicity or show pictures, What i need are photos depicting the chasis, the cock pit, and the engine if anyone knows how to get my hands on them or can help me out itd be greatly appreciated.
  17. Initially I had asked for photos, then i realized that theres a topic for that, Instead ill ask a question a little bit in advanced... What can i do to make the nitrogen shocks look more realistic? Or is there any other detail truck to use as an alternative? In addtion, I havent checked but i believe there are gauges and such in the cock pit, any idea on how and where to run the wires?
  18. I know its probably too late, And i like either way its coming along, But had i come to the site sooner, my opinion would have been to combine both ideas, i really liked the look of the stake bed, cause i love real wood on old trucks, but i loved the engine on the second idea.... but either way as i said im going to look foward to whatever comes out of this.
  19. My name is Phil, I have recently gotten back into modeling pretty seriously, and after spending money buying kits that i wanted, I decided the right place for me to start would to finish up the projects that i never finished last time i got out of the hobby. First up shall by my Mustang Monster. I used the Revell GT350 kit initially, but it didnt stay the stock kit for long. I threw on the Amt Shelby scoops, and actually molded the "C" scoops to look streamline as if it wasnt just an ad on. This was my first attempt using model putty, and I did my best to make it look natural. I think i did a decent job. My next step was the engine. Im a fan of the 428 I believe is the engine that came in the AMT shelby kit, and since i had already parted that kit out, i figured finish the job, I had to do some cutting and sanding to make room because it is a huge motor. It litreally wouldnt fit in the bay, and for final assembly, Im going to have to drop the engine through the front and attatch it to the chasis, as opposed to just setting the body ontop, becaue the valve covers and headers are too wide to fit from the other way. Yes i basically threw realism out the door, but its a sweet looking car. Now fortunately I had stumbled across an old old older project which was a clash of a nomad, and a Dodge Sidewinder, And the rims that are on that car are so killer, even has fire shaped tread, So i instantly wanted to use those, I had to cut out the back wheel wells to make them fit because they are huge and wide, but overall its a killer look. the front ones arent an issue by anymeans, And the pictures will show the car much lower on the front rims than it will finally be, i just don thave the front suspension assembly complete, since im using a custom motor, I have to custom make the exhaust, which is just about where i left the kit for the past three years, however not before I sprayed my concoction of green on the body. This was my first time ever using an air brush, And if i dont say so myself, it turned out nicely. However its not even about half way done yet, I still have to decide a few things on the final paint scheme, My initial plan called for flam pattern, not so traditional flames starting from the hood and ending just past the first wheel well, and matching flames on the rear wheel well, and trunk lid. Its tenative but that was the first plan. Then im curious about what to do with the interior which is not pictured. The next one that I aim on finishing was in the middle of final assembly, when idiotically i glued the windshield to the roof of the car, and because it was hands down the best spray can paint job i achieved pre clear coat, and the accidental glueing accured post clear coat, it deeply discouraged me from completeing the model. but ill tell you about it a little bit. Its the Revell, 69 charger kit, I sanded to roof becaue it naturally had a vinyl top, did away with that, I used the stock hood, which i cut the blower hole out as accurately as i could to the film. The blower i was dead set on obtaining the exact blower, and i found it in the Revell 68 Corvette roadster 2 n 1 kit, I used the belts and pullys and frankenstiened them with the charger kits 440. Yes ive been made aware its not a hemi, but at the time I was crafting this kit, it was immediately after the film, and i was niave and ignorant enough to think i could pass it off and no one notice... I was wrong, that was anoter issue that sorta discouraged me. Now that i am back i figure i should finish. I hate the AMT kit. First of all the charger in the movie is a 68, not a 70, which theres not a terrible lot of differences, I just dont like AMT's Kit. I figure what ill do is finish this one up as the pretty rear wheel standing beauty, and assemble the AMT kit as the wrecked version. hehe.
  20. This is hands down one of the best models I've ever seen. I think this maybe better than the actual car. lol. Wow... wow.
  21. I think I've seen that model before, these shows that you were at, was one of them at graves county highschool in graves county, kentucky? I had a Dodge Ram Pickup at the same contest in which i took first place for Junior Stock class or whatever. But this car is simply beautiful, almost thought it was real for a second.
