  1. Well I got started prepping the body this morning.. I'm trying to figure out how to go about lowering her down a touch... I'm actually working on this one, while I build another copy and clean up a old build from 20+ years ago... There's roadrunners laying everywhere
  2. Well I'm happy to say I got started modeling today. I started prepping the body of the new build.. can't wait to get it ready to paint. And I also got the old one washed up. I'm gonna touchup the "chrome" trim and slap this one back together just like it was 20+ years ago.. Looking forward to the comparison when I'm done. Stay tuned...

This is looking pretty slick. I forgot to ask, is this the AMT kit?
  4. So last year I just couldn't get into it. I didn't even start a kit until september. I think I ended up finishing maybe 6 (mostly snappers and curbsides). But around Christmas, I came up with an idea to hopefully keep me motivated this year and got pretty excited about it. So with being said Start sooner Build more/Finish more Trying to learn air brushing FINISH THE DANG CBR THIS YEAR.. GEEZ But mainly Go back to having fun with it...
  5. It was finished up and posted underglass www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/133389-beverly-hills-cop-nova/
  6. that already looks wicked... ?
  7. Taking another swing at the ones I still have is hopefully gonna keep me motivated this year... I've recently got new versions of about all of them. Oddly enough, this one was in a case in the box... not sure how all the dust got to it. Maybe it sat out before I boxed them up. That would make it vintage dust too Joe! Glad you dropped in here. I'm may be picking your brain with some of my plans this year... provided I don't lose my focus. Gonna start cleaning it up this weekend. I've seen you do this, so I'm definitely gonna give it a shot.
  8. I'm digging this
  9. Looking good already. Can't wait to see what you do with it
  10. Well since you mentioned it... As I was putting the built one back in its place, the back bumper fell off. Next thing I know I've got the grill, chassis and interior out... I'm gonna clean it up so it'll be a fair comparison when I'm finished.
  11. So this is going to be my first build.. ok, started build... of 2023. I'm come up with a plan to keep me somewhat motivated this year, since this year I didn't start building anything til like september. Ok, so.... Like most of you, I took a hiatus from the hobby because of life, only to return with a re-ignition of sorts.. When i got started back in this, I dug out what I have left of the kits from back then... some survivors.. some in pieces... The last couple weeks I've been looking them over. Reliving some of it... Trying to figure out why I did some the way I did... Trying to decide if I've improved or not... just enjoying myself really... when it hit me... I'm gonna make new builds of my old builds for comparison for myself. And the best part, I love these old Monogram kits and since that's what most of them are its a win/win for me... so.... 20+ yrs ago this was one of last models I built and probably one of my best efforts.. It's been stored in a box or case ever since... I remember it being painted Testors Competition Orange, so I'll have to come up with an alternative for that... anybody have any suggestions? And for this build, I'm going to be using the new release... We'll pick this build back up in 2023... stay tuned...
  12. Opened it up today to get a look... I don't know exactly which direction I'm going with this yet, but it's gonna fun...
  13. Turned out great Steve. Very nicely done!
  14. The COPO is the only Nova with those pieces, I do believe. I think the wheels can be sources from the COPO Camaro or the new SS Camaro. Harts Parts has the pieces you are asking about in resin. https://hartspartsresin.com/
  15. You'll have better results loading your brush up and making one stroke. Resist the urge to go back over your work. But... you would be better served spraying it. Only my opinion
  16. Alright... I'm throwing my hat in once again.. Surely I'll make it to the finish line this year... maybe... hopefully...
