  1. Through the past sever years, a few more "Bandwagon" trends
  2. The Tee Bucket world seems to be embracing the "Zoomie" header thing in earnest.
  3. Many trends take up ideas that were just NOT popular back in the day. Maybe the "Dare to be different" thing came from this? I do see cars being hot rodded today that just wouldn't be looked at twice "Back in the Day". i.e. fourdoors. Off year ( from a traditional Model A, Deuce, "40 Ford perspective) body styles, many of which have shown up in plastic. When i was in high school, no one would have looked at a '37 as rodding material. Much different today as the availability of the "Traditional" rods has diminished.
  4. I have observed trends following race cars, customs and things that the "Trendsetters" do just to be different. The race car thing was interesting, seeing it peak at the " Street Freak, Prostreet" style. There have been many lately that just seem to follow the Monkey example.
  5. I read in Hot Rod Magazine a long while ago that "Hot Rodding" was pretty much a "Monkey see, monkey do " kind of thing, with everyone just jumping on the latest trend. Having been in this hobby for many years i find this true.
  6. Always the Nay Sayers. It really gets old.
  7. Best thread i've seen in awhile, deserves to be pinned
  8. AMT '66 Nova extra engine on stand, best extra ever
  9. Yes , Moonlight Modelers of Phoenix Arizona is down only after a vote from the members was called for. I was chastised for suggesting we not meet. , saying i was "not showing some respect for the opinions of others" " i personally feel the health risk is low at this time" really ? "Once again stirring the pot and breeding division in the ranks." Some people just don't see the seriousness of our situation.
  10. Failing to realize this is a forum. You have the ability to chose the threads and post you read, look at and respond to. The COVID19 virus effects us all and some just might want to know how others here cope with this situation.
  11. This seems like a head in the sand response to a serious situation that ultimately effects us all.
  12. Hmmm ? maybe there is a continuing interest there.
  13. Listed as Offenhauser Scoop on Summit site
  14. Maybe it's time for who ever owns that old war horse '59 El Camino kit to modify the mold to a '60 ?
  15. Why would one want to Put a rather rare Revell coupe with the wrong roof insert on a Monogram fender set when Monogram already has a great coupe body , also the disparity in scale 1/25 to 1/24th ?
  16. My '56 day 2 came in stock form when i was in high school 1964. Fist thing was black wheels and baby moons. next up, chrome exhaust tips. It was a belair power pac, 265, 4bbl, dual exhaust , powerglide, not much else mostly due to budget.
  17. The ubiquitous Monogram 1/24th scale coupe is always available. Check on line.
  18. How do the parts pac engines fit in the Revell '29 PU ? since they only come with four bangers
  19. Yes. The display stands often say "Liberty" on them, Hawk as well
  20. I saw somewhere that Atlantis was going to reissue this kit.
  21. "Dog Leg" in front of door is also a '28-'29 give away.
  22. Resin, or test your modeling skills and slice the front off the ubiquitous Monogram '30 Coupe and attach the front portion from any of their '29 pick ups,
