  1. Brings to mind, back in the day when everyone switched to Chrysler power for their funny cars, didn't make any difference what the body was. Then to make matters worse, in the eye of the purist, all of the track announcers and anyone talking about said cars always referred to them by the make of the body. not the engine. The jest of it being, the Chrysler HEMI was KING. Sure Ford had their Shotgun SOHC and their Boss 429, Mickey Thompson gave us some other wonderful Hemi motors and the Chevy Porcupine Splayed valve BIG block 427 did a great job for awhile, but the Chrysler HEMI was King, not unlike the switch to the small block Chevy V-8 265 / 283 / 327 / 350.
  2. Front Engine Dragster building details right here : http://cacklefest.com/Shubert-Herbert.shtml Oooops, someone beat us to it http://bigyohns.com/S-H-model.shtml
  3. You missed the fact that the two cars are exactly the same ? Interesting
  4. It's all in your mind, you're not trying hard enough. Every build I do is first a nugget in my mind like Plowboy and Tom Gieger said. Ya gotta get to thinkin' model cars. Every time yer out and about lookin' at cars going by, cars in magazines, cars at shows, cars here on the board, broaden your outlook and think, what can I do different, what can I do that brings this more into the realm of what I'm interested in? Make it YOUR build idea. You can do it.
  5. Swooosh, well it's kinda like Swoop. Okay, probably 20 times better
  6. I like that, Lockheed T-33's Hot Rod and a babe. I was a young lad when my Dad was stationed at Edwards AFB in the early '50's.
  7. and remember, Art, as in Love , is in the eye of the beholder.
  8. Saw this on the net. That's what got me to thinkin', show us what you like. Remember to give credit to the artist.
  9. Maybe one of the most popular artist would be Robert Williams, but you know there's a bunch more.
  10. Well thanks HARRY, ya blew that one. Ya think ?
  11. Maybe it's time Chrysler one ups Ford and Chevrolet and comes out with something first for a change ?
  12. How about a "Cameo" style truck ? http://www.allpar.com/trucks/dodge/sweptside.html
  13. A story from the past : http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2013/08/22/that-time-they-found-all-those-tuckers-stashed-away-in-elgin-park/?refer=news Lost Tuckers :
  14. Something somebody just did. There's another one I can't find, made of plumbers threaded pipe. I'd bet there are a bunch more out there too, not counting all the weird "bosozoku" stuff from Japan. Let's not go there.
  15. Show us YOUR pipes. Here's what I had in mind :
  16. Take a ride to the land inside : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2VNFpiGWo
  17. There used to be a hobby shop here in town called Gorden's Hobby Lobby. I followed it around as they moved from one shopping center to another. This was a great family, Mom and Pop and kids (three brothers I think) place. Finally the last move Dad died, kids took over and "Hobby Lobby" moved in and bought em out. How often do I go to Hobby Lobby ? maybe once a month, dang I forgot my coupon. They usually have "same 'ol, same 'ol. I watch the board here to find out when they change the shelves.
  18. Along with the question of how they were stored, look at how they are treated now. In some of the videos the "handlers" , for lack of a better term, seem to have little or no knowledge of how to treat these cars. Watch them move these cars around pushing them into what little space there is and then piling stuff on top of them.
  19. . . . just because the Original Poster hasn't posted . There are others here that do have an interest in the possibilities of this kit. New from http://www.islandcollectibles.net/prod022211.htm yeah, sure $185 is steep but the interest is there.
