  1. Ya gotta wonder sometimes if that's not the reality of this hobby now. I find myself looking and buying old kits just because I had them back when. Looking forward to the two re releases of the old Renwal kits , two ships. sub and a carrier. Not to mention the Sizzler (Slingster), and the Old AMT '36 Ford.
  2. Haven't seen this film yet, but looks like it will be worth it just for the cars. http://www.wimp.com/visualeffects/
  3. at least on the small block
  4. I feel your pain. Did the same thing. Good place on 19th ave that fixe$ them.
  5. Thanks for reminding me, couldn't remember the title. Still can't find it on line.
  6. My Dad was in the Air Force. We lived in England in the late fifties at a base in East Anglia, home of the Mighty Eighth. The base we were at , RAF Station Sculthorpe was a SAC base with medium bombers, first with the North American B-45 Tornado and then the Douglas B-66 Destroyer all of the 47th Bomb Wing. My Mom and Dad were always taking my brother and I somewhere neat, a castle one day, Robin Hoods Forest another. One day my Dad had my brother and me in the car driving out to another AFB, abandoned. This place sent shivers up my spine. It was just like the opening scenes of Twelve O'clock High. There was the empty runway. the empty control tower everything but the sound track. I heard it though, even if my Dad and Brother didn't. Going inside the control tower was just like the movie with the painted pictures on the wall and all. Something I'll never forget.
  7. Gotta be honest here. This is the first one that came to mind.
  8. Maybe they needed to downsize ?
  9. Well, I guess , that's that !
  10. I lived in Okinawa for several years when I was in the Navy.Came home for lunch one day (lived off base with my lovely wife) time to go back to work. Got in the car and I heard the dreaded sound of the cicada starting up,tic, tic, tic, not long till he got into full song. Didn't need that on the way back to work. I went inside for the bug spray. Got back to the car only to discover I'd left the turn signals on, tic, tic, tic.
  11. How long did it run ? Any one have all of them? How many "Blue Printer" kits are there ?
  12. Ok, let's clarify... cars that were never production vehicles NOT cars that never existed in any form.
  13. Sometimes these cars appear in kits only as an aside, I.E. some of the station wagon versions.
  14. Grab one of those Minicraft 1/16th kits and the reissue of the Lindberg Bull Horn and get to work. You'll have to find a resin Deuce grill shell, I forgot where I got mine.
  15. Great kit, lots of good parts, tires so, so,hard vinyl. Goofy wheels, but the rest of it has good detail. Too bad there's no turtle deck or shortened pick up bed. but still, add these parts to any one of those Minicraft Model A's and your in.
  16. and I believe Art has given us the answer I was looking for. Thank you Art. The rest of you, I don't know.
