  1. The LOLA T70 has always caught my eye as a very Swoopy bodied car The Ford P68 is in the running also
  2. Ford P68, there out they're somewhere :
  3. Same for me only it happened in a Phoenix,AZ. K Mart, I ended up with two, the Red Alpha and the Fiat F1. They had a table just inside the front door. I saw a guy coming out with one as I was going in, and ask, he just pointed inside. I remember mine were only $20 though.
  4. Google is your friend. Just look up the model companys : http://www.revell.com/ AMT / MPC (Round2 ) http://www.round2models.com/ and read the board to keep up with which companys have gone out of business and which have been bought up by others. don't forget your local hobby shops and the big box hobby stores too, Hobby Lobby, Michaels etc. local clubs would be a big help too.
  5. One of my all time favorites. Was this ever kited ?
  6. Yer just joshin' right ? If not ,that new (?) Stacey David kit is a good start. Speaking of which, has anyone seen one built into anything?
  7. An interesting aside when building model hot rods, and you really do have a choice, I'd bet most just go with what's in the kit. I call this "brand of convenience" I saw this a lot when I was teaching High School Auto Shop. Not unlike my own choices of early years. Grampa, Uncle Ed. ol' aunty Mary , died and passed on their lovingly kept car, whatever it was and I'm mighty proud of it, Buford, Stude or what ever. Lucky for me, after years of nursing a Model A I dragged home, my Brother told me Dad had found Me something that ran, and I was blessed with a '56 Chevy Bel Air V8. So my allegiance switched overnight from Ford to Chevrolet. Old Hot Rod adage : "Run what ya brung."
  8. http://www.cybermodeler.com/special/ipmsusa2013.shtml Thank you Michael Benolkin
  9. WOW! Look at all that stuff. http://www.nmusafvirtualtour.com/media/062/B-36J%20Engineer.html and if you like that , here's some more http://www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/virtualtour/cockpits.asp oh yeah, use the control panel at the bottom to look ALL around.
  10. Now THAT doesn't make any sense . Especially when one looks at all of the older and newer exotic Ford engines available. 429 SOHC, Boss 429, INDY 4 Cam, any of the newer single , double cam , multi valve Cobra blower motors.
  11. Amazing the similarities with the original Sizzler Dragster kit. Which trees will be chrome ? Center and top right ?
  12. With out a hood ? Width ? length ? oil pan configuration ? tranny set up ? Weight ? 400 vs 600lbs ? Power out put, yada, yada , http://www.oocities.org/yblockhead/HotRodding292.html second best
  13. Must of been pretty hot there for their "desert" testing ?
  14. and have you compared the two , dimensionally ? Weight ? Power out put ? Parts availability ? it don't happen for a reason, or two , or three.
