"Reverse Engineering" , I get it,but has it ever been used to reproduce a model kit that's no longer available ?

I think James has the right idea. My point is that is not reverse engineering , nothing more than opening or closing molds to come up with the desired parts. and by the way, I had a heck of a time gettin' that flag offin the roof o' my car.

I believe "Reverse Engineering" is where an existing old kit is used to copy to cut new molds.

I've heard this term used over the last few years and the idea seems really great to bring back some of those lost treasures we keep talking about, lost in "The Fire" and "The Train Wreck" et. al. So what's going on? I've heard both yes it was, and no it wasn't, on the Carl Casper Undertaker Dragster.

Neil, that's a work of real inspiration. Flip nose, red firewall makes it pop. I see you got rid of the kits sewer pipe headers with another work of art.Those look much better. This might not be a how to on "flip" fronts , but give it a good look. There are a bunch of great ideas here covering many problems a mere beginner would have trying to copy this.

I saw a really nice Monogram '53 Bel Air done up in Badman colors. I haven't had much luck finding one (Monogram '53) so I started thinking about other possibilities, I.E. a Monogram '56 or '57, then I ran across these fine examples.These aren't mine, found 'em on the web. So show me what ya got.

Ok, here's what I'm up to, some derivatives to the original Monogram '55 Badman. This kit was built by Dave McGowan http://www.showrods.com/gallery_pages/2002_contest/badman_iv.html I've seen one done with the Monogram '53. I can't find one of those but started thinking maybe something else, maybe a '56 or a '57 and why not get the engine correct this time , 396 cu. in. ?

AMT = 1/25th scale Monogram = 1/24th scale
