  1. The really sad part is everyone suffers. I know an individual in this neck of the woods that's been in and out of business several times through the last decade. Looking at the many other aspects Tom mentions above everyone suffers.
  2. Ma's Resin has the rears with tires and brake backing plates.
  3. I remember a clear tear drop hood in an early AMT Shelby kit.
  4. So where did all of these cool kits go?
  5. Where did these molds end up? I thought these were a going concern. Guess I should of bought em when I saw em. I missed their Ferrari Breadvan, Cobra Super Coupe and a few others. Neat stuff.
  6. RE: "going out for a steak" : If you go to the doctor, you would be well advised to not only know about your doctor but the procedures and medications he or she may be prescribing.
  7. Johnathan, " the masses don't care" ? or the masses don't know any better? I think it's more the later and the model companys don't care.
  8. I was just thinking . . . "a run of 50,000 kits" that's divided by 50 states = 1,000 kits per state vs how many hobby shops & mass outlets that sell models ( Michaels, Hobby Lobby) ,and how many online stores? that's a lot of kits.
  9. But that's just it, they're not ,it's just the opposite.
  10. TRD is already a start in this direction, although kind of pricey. I think companys like Galaxie and Accurate Miniatures will pop up giving us the unusual kits we all talk about.
  11. Brett, maybe if you'd tone it down a bit. You come across as a know it all. Give a little. There are others here that have been in this hobby a long time in one from or another with just the same knowledge and expertise as you purport to have.
  12. That "Recipe" thing was something they used to do in Car Craft and I believe Rod & Custom magazines in years (early '60's) gone by.
  13. If you (in response to anyone looking at this thread) haven't read this, then you need to.
  14. I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes it's the only game in town.
  15. gotta love it, don't cha ?
  16. I'd bet a bunch of us got started with airplanes. ( I say "airplanes" in the vernacular of a young builder) I did, and reading Harry's post I gotta wonder if that's the way to go ?
  17. Like to see this one too.
  18. I knew that. and who builds em stock?
  19. Not the same scale Not the same kit Not the same stuff inside It's from the Revell "Fiddly" series (floppy doors, hoods, trunk and spindly suspension, and the same ol 409) come to think of it, I don't have one of those. But I still want a Monogram '53
  20. Wonder if we'll ever see this one again any time soon ?
