My guess

. . . has there really been any hard data done on this subject ? I know there have been many threads here and every other model car board about what you would kit. But, has anyone really done the math? I remember a model magazine in years past used to do an annual poll on the subject with some results from the model company's, but then they stopped doing the poll.

Romell you look awfully happy with that new Funny car kit in your hands. Hmmm, wonder what's next? Look there I am, standing next too Brad white hair and all.

Last year at the Desert Classic here in Phoenix there were two entry's in the junior class ( and a "Make and Take It") This year there were also two entry's in the junior class (also with a make and take it). I don't think the word is getting out. I think the lure of winning a trophy for their work would entice some of these youngsters.Getting the word out seems to be a problem all the way around. I think there were a few of those in the Arizona Desert Classic post that lamented "not knowing" about the show.

Roger, just for fun ask your son what kits he would like to see kitted.

What a great idea, instead of board games or a movie buy a variety of model kits and invite the family over to enjoy your hobby. Now, honestly, I did envision this. However I can't even get my family together for a birthday dinner. But still, it sounds like a good idea. I might try it.

On the road yesterday a '66 Mustang coupe past me , white with Cragars. My first thought was Wow! Kool car (which it was, still being on the road and all). Then I began pondering all the ramifications, years past we wouldn't have given this lowly coupe a second glance, it not being a fastback or a convertible, and let's face it, mag wheels alone don't make a hot rod. Then the modeler in me kicked in, I remembered a similar response to the new box art for the rererelease of the old AMT '66 Mustang coupe. Someone was saying how inspiring it was (indeed the box art was very nice). My thought was however," Oh boy here we go again, another repop of the same old stuff.Wouldn't it be nice to see a new issue, maybe from Monogram? They could get some parts out of their already great '65-'66 Mustang series. I know many don't like the 1/24th scale, but hey anythings gotta be better that the old rehash from AMT. Again?

This is an interesting thread. With a bunch of younger builders chiming in,It would be interesting to question some of you on the hobby, your likes and dislikes.
