  1. I also like what I call their "Goofy" drag series. Cars that are drag oriented, but a little on the cartoon side. They don't do these much any more. Sad.
  2. I like the Hot Wheels with a drag theme.
  3. Remember when HRD started they had some learning time and even stopped publication several months in the beginning before they got it right. Let's give 'em a chance.
  4. So what does that tell you? I pick up little missteps in magazine often and wonder, am I the only one sees a Carter AFB on top of that engine , that ain't no Holley carb? But there they are, the magazine experts telling us all about what obviously in the picture right in front of both of us plainly says otherwise.
  5. I agree 100% also. I noticed that the new "Topic Tag" is rarely used since the board was rearranged recently.

  7. Gordon was with the club very early on when we met at Jerry's and Jim Woods home's. Probably the late eighty's early ninety's.
  8. I never thought I'd be writing one of these.Sometimes we take people for granted, losing track in our busy lives or just not paying attention. Gordon's name came up at the last Model show here in Phoenix with everyone pondering "what ever happened to Gordon Fields?" Gordon passed away August 21, 2011.In case you didn't know along with being a great modeler he was an accomplished piano player. I first met Gordon at one of the earliest meetings of The Moonlight Modelers at Jerry Keens home. What I remember was his kind way and big smile. He always had time to talk and acknowledge other builders. The big thing, and I mean BIG, was his penchant for the large scales. He was constantly building in the largest scales not only for himself but for others. His big sense of humor was evident in his daily driver. He was the first Gran Torino. He built himself the greatest model hauler you could imagine, it was a 1972 Gran Torino Wagon,BIG engine, Hood Scoop and all, with a gray ash wood paneling, oh yeah, and Jerry's chrome wire wheels. I have to say Gordon, we will miss you.
  9. Books are our friends. You can't find this type of information on Kindle.Just as looking in these books doing your research you will have to look on line, in book stores (used and new), and other sources to find the books that help you the most. I would be glad to help if you can't find what you are looking for, as I said, I have a vast library.Aircraft and naval history as well.
  10. There are already many books available on this subject.I've always wondered what everyone does in the light of research. I have probably as many books as I do model kits. One series I find really useful is the "Muscle Car Color History" set put out by Motor Books. There are more than twenty books in this set.
  11. Thank you all for enlightening me on this topic. I was unaware.
  12. "When the corrections are made to the chassis to allow a accurate F/S build of this kit," are you talking about the old AMT AWB kits? I still don't see where it says anywhere that the chassis on these kits are anything but stock, F/Stock, factory stock, unaltered stock. Help me out here.
  13. Speaking of rims and wheel/tire combo, I wonder what will or wont fit ?
  14. Oh, I thought it was F/ Stock, like in drag racing. Next question, why wouldn't it be "factory" stock ? What would be different ?
  15. Looks like it by what they say inside.
  16. What is an "accurate F/S build"?
  17. a picture's worth 1000 words.
