  1. Looks like a scalpel blade holder
  2. "Anyone got a better idea for the replacement engine?" Small block Chevy from any number of MPC Corvette kits ?
  3. Harry is correct in his observation. Looking at this model as it was being built I felt a sense of awe. As the build proceeded I looked on in great interest not as a NASCAR fan nor an AMC fan but as a model car fan.To be honest I too looked on with an eye to accuracy and build quality and was totally overwhelmed at what I was seeing.Thinking "surely I can find something wrong here", I found nothing, I think because of the overwhelming detain and completeness of the build. Then the critical post started poping up and I must agree the lug nuts were off and off setting, but looking back at the overall build, did it distract from the end result? No I don't think so, the overall build is certainly a work of art.I wonder how many people that visit the Louvre walk the gallery's looking for fault and find any ? Mike is right, Show me the money.
  4. aside from the cockeyed lug nuts,. . . I'd have to say my first take was WOW! I myself envy your efforts and accomplishments, simply awesome.Don't let this get to you, I see this as a common board feeding frenzy Thank you for posting this great build..
  5. So this would be a "hard top" ?
  6. Where did the hood go ? Oh yeah, you said from the sixty's. Thanks for the memories. There was a thread last week that brought up when you became interested in cars / building models.Pete you hit it on the head for me. High School, 1964, I had a good friend that had a '40 just like this, no hood, it was the rage to show off your engine. I think he had an Olds 303,two fours. He did all the work and even painted it. Well that's all it took. I had to sell my Model A and get something that ran. A couple of days later my Brother came in saying I had to go look at this cool car Dad found.I ended up with a '56 Belair 265 power pac, About a year later I was in the spray both working on my first paint job. Thanks Pete. Oh yeah, thanks Ronny, for getting me on the right path.He also showed me the beauty of NOT using all the decals that came in the box.
  7. Don't wait, build one now
  8. Glenn those are all clean and crisp, just great.
  9. Detail work is exquisite .
  10. This is a good example of a post that could benefit from the "poll" feature to tally the responses .
  11. Michael, to start with I have to say this is a great build, super idea and excellent execution, really nice work. Where did the induction system come from, the carbs and the air cleaners?
  12. another one of those "Katey Back Up The Bus" type threads. WOW! Look at some of these builds. Davin,Aaron,Pete, Darnir, it's builders like you that make this board a step above the rest. WOW!
  13. This is the hottest thread I've seen in a long time. Bill, Dan, those builds are HOT, HOT, HOT !B)and Tim, where did that cool little c-dan come from ?
  14. as a retired postal employee I'm still not sure if we were supposed to salute the Post Master General
  15. Why do you suppose it was locked ?
  16. What a great function. Isn't it great that we can list a topic and then clarify it so everyone can understand and not wast their time opening up the post only to find out it isn't about anything you are interested in ?
  17. " I don't agree with the business model they are using" me either. Bait & switch ? shame on them.Coupons? Remember the good old days? When you could go into a store and see the price and know it was the only price you'd pay anywhere in town? Today everything is about greed and money.Bought a car lately? a house? Talk about tricks of the trade.
  18. I sent Allan some samples, don't know if he got to them yet, certainly the best work. You won't be disappointed.
