  1. I find these very therapeutic when I get in a rut and need to build something. They aren't really hard to build and whether you chose to detail them or not they come out rather nice. Oh yes I think they ARE model cars.(except that last one)
  2. Aren't we talking about issue #158 ? 100 issues- issue #158 ?
  3. Sign me up for a shifter knob
  4. LOOK OUT! Isn't this the part where we usually go off the . . .
  5. From the first post in this thread : " model CARS...not tractors or diecasts or trucks or motorcycles or boats. The title of the magazine is "Model Cars."" I think.
  6. . . . maybe if they would have stayed "focused" . . .
  7. I agree with Terry.Although the title doesn't say "Plastic" Model cars, due to the content over the years, and the coverage of Plastic model car events one might expect the majority of the articles to cover said topic, plastic model cars.As in any money making venture marketing plays it's part and to that direction one would expect to find articles on other topics, occasionally, however connected in some form to the main topic, plastic model cars .All of the major magazines we are familiar with, Hot Rod,Rodders Journal,Muscle Car Review, do this and from time to time they also stray far afield.Hot Rods venture into many different forms of two and four wheel folly have come and gone through the years. You may remember their ventures into, Go carts, Vans, Motorcycles, foreign cars,VW's,and most recently 10 pages of girls. This usually results in some letters from the readers and a swing back to the main topic. My opinion now, there are specialty magazines that cover die cast and some of these other topics. I personally would like to see a magazine dedicated to plastic model cars. I think this is where SAE got into trouble years back going in too many directions.
  8. The '69 Charger was my daily driver at the time. It's in my garage now. What would you like me to ask 'em?
  9. I met Bill in Sun City AZ in the late eighty's. He had towed the Goldenrod to a friends house there to repaint it for the show circuit.I only wish now I had taken more pictures and notes.
  10. Nice music, beautiful background landscapes, unusual aricraft of the world, and Harry finds fault with an translation from Israeli to english. How many F-4 Phantom II's did you count ?
  11. Say, anyone hear what the status is on the Daytona Cobra is?
  12. An interesting point my good Doctor. From an earlier thread someone asked the question: "Why would one worry so, with so many unbuilt kits in the closet?" I think this is where human nature takes hold, looking forward to the future, anticipation, something entierly new, something you have thought about, even before you heard of it's release, something you have dreamed of. I must say I have learned, there is nothing one can do about it except to stay current on what the hold up may be, and then realize it may still only be speculation from others.
  13. Looks like a winner
  14. I was wondering how close the '41 Ford is to the '46-'48?Will we be able to swap the '41 clip from AMT to the new Revell?
  15. KOOL. can't wait to see the '48. Hope it's the same way.
  16. Dont' forget the Kingsmen
  17. Interesting note here. In the back of the latest issue of The Rodders Journal there is a picture of two Chopped '42 Fords with grill openings very similar to what we've seen in earlier press releases on the Revell '48. One car is an original Barris custom ,back when he built real customs, not wacky TV cars, and a clone of the Anne De Valle version.I bring this up because of all the clamoring for a stock version. It seems to me a custom would be much more interesting.
  18. It really isn't all that confusing. Just getting started again, stick with what you used before, it'll still work and many of us still use the old tried and true, tube glue, bottled liquid glue and spray cans for paint.Welcome back.
  19. Not sure you want to pursue this . Reading here on the board about others making their own spray both using "Non- sealed" motors and the chance of explosions caused by sparks from within the motor.
