  1. I like that , well done.
  2. Thank you for sharing that with us Richard. I feel that really puts a face on this, yours as well as Daves. Thank you again.
  3. another great thread talking about more than tube frames, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/90119-best-t-bucket-chassis-kit-in-125th-scale/
  4. I have used a few of these to build sixties style roadsters. These much maligned kits can give you some nice chassis if not their weird bodies.
  5. As mentioned in Bob Grainger's "Odds & Ends 2018 " thread, http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/134175-odds-ends-july-2018/ there are quit a few kits with good donor tube frames. I didn't list all that I could think of and certainly there are some I missed so, here's what I have so far with a few examples ( all from the interweb)
  6. That should be quite stunning Ben. Be sure to do an "In Progress" Thread.
  7. a straight shot to the good stuff, http://www.angelfire.com/in4/blu4/p4.html
  8. http://www.angelfire.com/in4/blu4/index.html Another random on line find
  9. These are the kits the motors originally came in. I believe the Parma kits are actually motorized as well, a small plus.
  10. The Double Dragster engines I spoke of originally are from Parma, an R/C supplier. Here are some examples of the Double V-8 kit mislabeled Chevy. They also did a copy of the Garlits HEMI, same kit.
  11. Probably the best right here, too bade these are all gone.
  12. How do the scales match up. the HEMI being rather large at 1/4th scale ?
  13. AMT Custom & Competition Parts Pack kit also had a tubular chassis.
  14. The Revell Orange Crate has a nice tubular chassis.
  15. and there in lies the problem, most others don't either.
  16. Still hoping for this one to show up.
  17. There are also a plethora of 1/6th scale die cast kits from the likes of Liberty, Revell, Hawk and Testors.
  18. There are, of course all the "Parts Pac" kits. https://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/models/partspacks.htm There are also some other kits. A few taken from existing full kits, the engines from Lindbergs Double Dragster in 1/8th scale, for example. I believe these were marketed for the R/C crowd. There were A few others, MPC did some in 1/10 scale. And of course all of the see through kits,https://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/models/visible-engines.htm starting with Monograms "Customizing Auto Engine and the ubiquitous Visible V-8.
  19. Same money spent here https://www.google.com/search?q=rat+rods&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiAjpqenYPcAhVDjlQKHZ_pAz4Q_AUICigB&biw=1455&bih=697
