  1. Petty Charger w/see through body. ? Haven't seen this one. Are you sure it's Lindberg ? I know MPC did one back in the day and it was reissued a few years ago, but NOT with the clear body.
  2. Favorite car I owned ( and regret selling ) 1960 El Camino , white with chrome reverse rims with baby moons. 283 four speed, three two barrels.
  3. Which one ? original or kit, clone, replica, or a continuation Cobra ? 289, 427 ? Street Race ? OK< enough of the smart ass questions. Put ME down for a Continuation slab side 289 Roadster with wire wheels.
  4. Their 1/16th 427 Cobra is a very nice kit as well.
  5. For a starter, it's not a Coupe
  6. An added benefit, while searching for that picture on line you just might answer your own question. Looks like that OHC 6 just might be a Pontiac
  7. So many post could be more clarified if a picture was included. I.E. the recent post on the Daytona transporter http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/134948-mpc-daytona-show-transporter/ or the one on the '40 Ford coupe.http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/134929-40-ford-coupe/ A picture can be worth a 1000 words
  8. Well now, that's the question isn't it. Which one ?
  9. H.L. by me had the 40 ford coupe
  10. '40 Ford coupe . . . Revell ? AMT ? Lindberg ? Yeah, that last one's a ringer
  11. While we're on the subject, were one of these Revell Tri Fives the first "Gasser" Kit, or was it their Stone, Woods & Cook '41 Willys ? Or did I miss the mark altogether and it was something else?
  12. Interestingly enough, this thread doesn't have anything to do with WHAT a "Gasser" is. What I am presenting to you are current kits and possibly some older kits that were initially issued simply as kits with varying build possibilities, maybe 3 in 1 kits maybe not. At any rate the latest reissues have been presented as "Gassers" whether or not they are truly "Gassers" or not. And this isn't the point. The point being, the kits have some "Gasser" type parts enabling them to be presented as "Gassers" with the manufactures taking advantage of this and reissuing the kits as "Gassers" when in fact they are really just a reissue of some great old kits with new box art touting the "Gasser" image. I'm not faulting them on this, a great marketing ploy really, just wondering how many other kits have been marketed this way?
  13. That's one of my favorite club theme builds, same kit. You really get to see some unique ideas. This is a hard build, as this theme rarely gets picked anymore.
  14. I for one, enjoy the new attempt at using the original box art. I feel it more accurately represents the kit.
  15. I think what I'm after here are kits, many newly released, that seem to hype the "Gasser" thing ( here again, THEIR ideas) on the new box art as to the fact that it's a "Gasser" kit when in all reality it's just a reissue of the same old kit with the possibilities of some "Gasser" like parts to build the box art kit. Many of these kits have some good high performance parts to achieve this end.
  16. What is it that drives you when building or for many of us, just contemplating a build? I actually have several small note books with building ideas ( least i forget them, remember, I am 70 years old) that I list kits used, parts from other kits, etc. I use the actual 1:1 approach on many of my ideas. Basically, how would I build this if it were a real car, 1:1.

  18. You're trying to hard. Just look at the examples.
